Haunting Of Eldorado Canyon & Jubilee Mine Nevada "THE MOVIE" - A Lord Rick & AngelOfThyNight Production!

The first time I laid eyes on this canyon was back around 1996 I went with someone from the government to visit the Jubilee Mine. Back then the road was nearly inaccessible this is before it became touristy for four wheeling, horseback riding and of course tours. When I first visited the mine it was full of candle wax, bones, symbols of the occult and I had an experience with seeing a horned entity in the mine it was the strangest thing. But it also opened up my eyes to wanting to see more. We would NOT return till 2008 when I filmed and produced this movie on 8mm tapes. I had the tapes converted or digitalized by a company so that years later our viewers could get the full experience and now its LIVE on your channel for all of you to see the fruits of our labor on this extensive project at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwxurVw26D0

Nelson Nevada was a booming gold and silver mining town. It was known for the Techatticup Mine. It was the Spanish that traversed the nearby Colorado River in 1775 where they discovered gold and silver in Eldorado Canyon. The Mining Boom was at his height in 1859 one of the largest in Nevada history. But the area also gained a reputation for being lawless and full of deserters from the Civil War. In fact Nevada's first serial killer lived here and he took the life of miners living in the canyon.

Mining was very active from 1858 till 1945 and the name of the town was changed to honor Charles Nelson who was a prospector and camp leader who was found murdered in his home in 1897. It was a lawless place where gold made men greedy. Which is why we focused so many times on the nearby Jubilee Mine where not only deadly mining accidents occurred but men were often murdered in the mine and buried there. I have heard rumors of hidden bodies in the mine making it one of Nevada's most haunted mines. In this video we do three different tiers of this mine, canvasing shafts, shimmying past them and trudging through water to get into the less scene chambers.

Many mining camps sprung up in the canyon and mines. The canyon was named by the 1857 steamboat entrepreneur Captain George Alonzo Johnson. At the end of the road is Nelsons Landing which the washes drain into the Colorado River at the end of the canyon. They had a port and even a restaurant here but a massive flash flood killed quite a few people decades ago wiping all of it from the face of the earth. So in addition to murders this area has scene some tragedy too. Rumor has it also many miners left there dogs chained up some of them dogs died it gets so hot in the summer the lack of water makes the place inhospitable especially to dogs. So phantom dogs are sighted here or as some call them hell hounds. I had an encounter on the road at night with one of these so called phantom dogs.

The Jubilee is one of the largest mines in the area its one of the strangest also. Its changed so much over the years some areas are not even accessible anymore but explorers all over Vegas come up here to check it out imagine what that was like back in the 90s when occultist went here to do rituals. Rumor has it there was a black dragon in a hypothetical sense and demonic entity that reigns deep within the mine fun perhaps myths no less. But what is real here is balls of light, disembodied voices, shadows, ghosts, whispers, strange noises and other happenings based on my experience. Not sure I ever been in a more haunted mine then here but its a place of tragedy and murder. The mine opened according to a friend of mine who is a local historian in the 1900's so it came much later then some of the other mines nearby but its close to Nelson so it was the main operable mine for many years here.

This footage is a mixed back we focus mainly on the Jubilee ill interview June and Boot who is a grid iron westerner in the San Juan Mining Camp. Will take you through the darkest parts of the mine so at times you will see nothing so imagine how we endured with barely any light. This was not a state of the art camera in fact it did not even have a light built into it at the time just a simple 8mm camera, a couple dim flashlights and my team descending down into the depths. It has its suspenseful parts too trust me we heard some strange things exploring. Ill stop in Nelson and film a couple times to and we have other film on youtube of the area if you want to check out our website editions so see the links below. But the main focus of this video is really the Jubilee and Nelson.

At the end of the video is a massive gallery with music of photos collected from our case files including team pictures, EVP's and video etc. In fact the gallery boast all of our work in the area from Nelson, Nelsons Landing, Nelson Hilltop Mine, The Pittsburgh Mine, The Gettysburg Mine, Skull Mine, San Juan Mining Camp and alas tons of pictures of the Jubilee Mine inside and outside. At one time when you descended down here in the 90's it use to say at the entrance welcome to hell. It may have been hell for some miners who went down into this mine and never came out again. Supposedly, their is quite a few bodies buried at the dry river beds to so I been told. On top of that the area is full of UFO sightings and all around full of the paranormal based on my case work.

The movie gives you a taste of what it means to be a paranormal investigator the hardships of our work trudging through water, dealing with obstacles, dangers, exploring etc. In fact there is three films all meshed together as one and the finale is visiting the mine at night after dark because we were trying to seek out the paranormal aspect of it rather then just the exploration part. So now we put the movie into your hands and hope our viewers will enjoy this project for years to come. I have spent quite a few times in Nelson even made a few friends here who filled me in on the areas strangeness and I was part of the crew for SYFYs Paranormal Highway it was our case that led to them filming here I just was not happy when they were faking hell hounds when they promised me they would not do that and in the future Ghost ADVENTURES wants to do a show here which I have no doubt they will not be truthful about this location so we are putting the movie out and setting the record straight! Now our movie is released years later but its here and its for all of you to indulge in as it was meant to be!

Haunting Of Eldorado Canyon & The Jubilee Mine "The Movie"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwxurVw26D0

One of the first locations I visited with the producer from Haunted Highway was the Searchlight History Museum. Today outside of the museum is this head frame and some mining equipment. Just imagine that back many years ago a military plane crashed right near this head frame it was a disaster. I have been to this site before however being a part of the crew I was able to tour the museum and its artifacts. I had just arrived in Vegas so this was one of our first stops to meet up with the museums curator.

The El Dorado Hills is one of the harshest regions of desert in southern NV. Their are cactus's that are so sharp they can penetrate a thick boot. I climb this mountain allot of it is hands and knees so the camera is shaky hand is bleeding from being stabbed. This is the vantage point as the crew for Haunted Highway is being filmed. I was pretty disappointed that they walked in circles for 20 minutes by Route 165 notice their is a crew they are not alone Dana is wearing the red jacket as I zoom on in. I eventually make it off the mountain sliding down the loose rocks leaving the trail was the beginning to a great day.

The only way to reach Nelsons Landing is to take route 165 which eventually runs parallel with El Dorado canyon. I was traveling with the crew of Haunted Highway you can hear them ask me a few questions as I film the entire scenic ride. Sure at the times the winds are whipping this is a very primitive location but its also one of the most beautiful deserts in Nevada with bright red rocks, hoodoo's and off in the distance the blue water of the Colorado River. This is a must see video for those scenic lovers!

This location is where the crew of Haunted Highway set up their base of operations. In all do honesty more or less it is the mouth of El Dorado Canyon. The real part of the canyon is a few miles westward. This location however is known as Nelsons Landing it served as a port for the gold miners in the 1800s until 1974 a flash flood struck the port killing 9 people and destroying the village that stood at this very location. Little does the crew of Haunted Highway know it but where they filmed at is a cemetery as their are many burials and potter fields at Nelsons Landing that are unmarked. It is not the Hell Hounds you have to worry about here it is a place with many angry spirits. Take this shoe for example who left it behind and why? Its a strange but alluring place!

Honestly watching Dana and Jack walking around in circles hanging meat off trees hoping to catch hell hounds is rather boring. The only true adventure where the path ends and the journey begins. I packed my back pack with food, medicine, paranormal equipment and cameras setting off on another Paranormal & Ghost Society adventure. Their was no back up I was all alone and taking off to an old mining camp miles deep within the El Dorado Mountains. Unlike the show which makes it seem like they have no backup and they are alone this is very far from the truth. You know your alone when you can hear a pin drop and their is nobody around to answer your cries for help!

This is a very narrow trail that follows the landing from above its not used very often as their were no footprints. During this video I discuss a bit of lore and my dealings with a hell hound I experienced back in 2008 when I did paranormal investigations in this region. I also discussed concerns as the crew was bringing in a trained German Shepherd to be used on a heat signature camera. At the time you can hear me voice my concerns about this because I knew at that point that rather then them truth seeking they were finding ways to up their ratings by frauding the public. What I do is real but some of these productions do is just disrespectful towards those who work so hard at their paranormal research.

When I came up over the ridge I found this hidden cove which during the summer is probably a great place for swimmers and campers, Climbing down this steep incline was difficult all I could think about is rolling into the cove. Their are many other coves along the river all of them I suppose are gems.

Some of you may think of the desert as a place with very little life however in this canyon some trees grow and ducks swim across the water in the cove. I know many years ago when offroading I ran into a group of campers at this very location I was so glad to visit it during the day its so much more beautiful to see a true jewel while adventuring.

Honestly rain in this region is extremely rare as its a very dry desert however due to flash flooding risk it can be deadly to hike here during rainfalls. You see the El Dorado Canyon area is like a funnel with many washes and other canyons that drain on into it. So when it rains higher up in the mountains it gathers and has only one way to go which is down till it reaches the Colorado River. I was caught in a bad situation and it was to late to turn back so I chanced it!

As a paranormal investigator my search for ghosts and hell hounds would take me to a road less traveled. I have driven in a four wheel truck late at night down such roads years ago and was told these were old ox roads that used to haul the gold to the landing for exportation. But to be able to hike these places with such a dark eerie storm approaching just adds to the suspense. Most paranormal television shows suffer from tight restrictions outdoors thus where they can hike a half of mile I will hike ten in one evening. It is the only real means to produce the results we do making us one of the most successful paranormal groups in the world.

I have done over the years allot of adventuring but nothing like these narrows which I was beginning to journey into them. In some way shape or form they are intimidate with towering high walls that at times become so narrow that during a flash flood would mean their was a good chance of possibly dying in them. It was raining between breaks I had to wipe my gear down with a towel as I entered these narrows like an undiscovered world.

The narrows were a giant maze that branched off to the left then the right more or less I felt as if I was in a labyrinth. The walls were so fragile that I could not climb out of them thus I would need to be patient until I was able to find a location that I could climb up into. What scary about the narrows is you have no idea where you are all you can do is look up and see the sky. Mountain Lions and rushing water occur within them time to time I had to be ready for anything.

This steep wall was my only salvation to ascend out of the narrows and I have to admit no matter what I grabbed onto the rocks kept crumbling. If it were not for my long sharp nails I may have not been able to pull myself up and out of here as the wall was taller then I was. If you notice I am alone I set the camera on a rock and talk to my viewers. I am quite social on film when I adventure alone sometimes all you have is your friends and viewers back home that believe in you which keeps you going.

Its truly a miracle I made it out of the narrows especially with what I found looming above them. The El Dorado Canyon area is an intricate wilderness filled with old mining roads some lead to camps others to mines. Nonetheless weather permitting my goal was to reach such places and if I did I knew I at least was hiking in a world of its own miles from civilization.

You have to be crazy to be a paranormal investigator or to make the sacrifices we make each and every extreme expedition. I have to say in no way was I delusional I had plenty of fluids, cigars and allot of survival gear. However the weather was making me a bit on the crazy side but all in all I am who I am which is a paranormal investigator. You would never see anything like this on any paranormal program because my work is not scripted we just adventure and hope for the best.

More washes more canyons its endless but no mines or the ghost town was anywhere near my reach. It is enough to drive you crazy as you finish one obstacle only to encounter another. This area had some scattered bean cans which the miners carried with them back in the day. Lets all go crazy time for a cigar then after ill continue on with the expedition.

Finding remnants of the past is generally a good sign that a mine or camp was there at one time. Some artifacts might be bean cans, tnt boxes and mining equipment. Over the years in the wild west we have seen it all however the trail of remnants does not lead me anywhere other then into a deeper more vast wilderness.

When my son viewed this video he said to me Dad you look like your in the middle of nowhere and I said to him no kidding. As you know SYFY often likes to depict their TV shows where their is no back up, camera crew etc lets show them what no back up looks like lol. Their is nothing surrounding me but miles of canyons, mountains and cactus's. I am not even remotely close to the crew of Haunted Highway as a matter in fact I climbed this ridge to show everyone that I am multiple canyons away from El Dorado Canyon.

Good thing I was able to get them out I slid down this steep grade and some cactus needles on the ground got me. Can you imagine showing up to the production crew and being like hey everyone can you get these needles out of my ass cheeks! See this is why you do not hike alone because once you get poked in the ass its all over!

Although their are dozens of mines deep in the El Dorado Hills their are some naturally formed dens like this one. You have to be careful approaching them they are places for coyotes and mountain lions to rest their heads at. I know that Haunted Highway tried to in someway suggest hell hounds are cryptid but truth be told if that were the case we would have discovered them by now especially with the amount of friends I have known to four wheel back here. It is what it is a lions den!

Things are looking dismal the sky is dark, rain is coming down and the temperatures are dropping. I can see fog over many of the local mountain peaks and I know that their is no way ill make it back to the landing before nightfall. My neck was in really bad shape and I had been hiking for hours on end. I would not be sure what the night had in store for me but I would find out.

The Aztec Road actually takes you up to its mine but its also a fairly decent road which meant that if I had to I could take it for many miles until I reached Nelson. I was no longer focused on getting to the ghost town or any mines. At times I begged for shelter just to warm my body and hands but did not find any here. This was a long road surrounded by mountains, cliffs and steep hills. The threat of being caught in a flash flood here were quite high.

Never underestimate the power of a poncho I actually grabbed this one before leaving the film set of Haunted Highway. Sadly it would not last very long but that is another story. I hope my viewers likes how it looks on me at this point it didn't matter I was already wet to the bone. But I figured that if I could wear it for awhile it would perhaps offer to keep some of the water off me to a degree.

Dusk is setting on in the sleet and hail is hitting me so hard that it hurts. Their is no shelter no place to go but to just keep pushing on. As much as I thought about getting back I also thought to myself how cool it would be to experience something that very few every do and trust me I did when darkness fell.

One darkness falls in the El Dorado Canyon and Hills area it can be deadly. You have hungry mountain lions, steep cliffs with loose rock around you and their is also the threat of anything going wrong. I had to figure a way to head into the canyon to the right then over the mountains and narrow washes. I had quite the feat on my hand and working my way through all this foliage was not making it an easier at the time.

This was the second most intense part of this expedition once the sun went down and the dark clouds covered the sky it was "Pitch Black". I could not even see my own hand in front of my face and my first step would be climbing over this massive mountain to get down into another canyon. I would follow the top of the ridge along a cliff till their was a much easier way to climb down unfortunately my poncho ripped exposing me to the elements. Towards the end of the video their is hope as I come across this beautiful barrel cactus which for every foot it takes a century to grow. In the rain they turn bright red so it was a nice find.

Things are looking quite gloomy on the expedition my radios are not working. I am soaked, cold and being hit with some rare snow. I am filming myself because I have no idea if I am going to fall to my death, become the prey of a natural predator or end up washing away down the side of a mountain. This is not one of my prettiest moments I am dead in the water you can see me laying down rain is blasting me in the face. I have not given up I just have not had any shelter from the elements and this location has thousands of locations that I must carefully cross through to get into the next canyon.

I have made it after some rest into an overgrown wash its so dark out here my glasses are wet I cannot do anything other then walk blindly. I was forced to jump off a small cliff if I did not land right I could have broken my ankle. The wash is narrow and eventually its turning more into a very narrow canyon that is only about 10' in width with very high walls. The rain is persisting it will not let up this is obviously a place very few humans have ever been especially at night during a storm like this.

This was an intense scene during the expedition and unfortunately my night vision camera is not the greatest as we are a non profit paranormal research team. However I keep the camera on the rain is pretty hard so you may or may not here. But I turned on the camera because I was being stalked by something on the top of the high walls in the canyon I was in. I heard what sounded like a dog howling and moving above me. If I ever felt like prey this would be the moment. In the video I drop my knife then end up picking it back up I was almost sure that a mountain lion was on the attack. Not only did I hear a dog a few times on the cliffs above me but I heard a voice of what sounded like a man and something threw a rock at my leg. I feel if Haunted Highway would have given me one of their better night vision cams the results of what was occurring may have astonished the public. I knew that before I left the hills something would try to stop me.

It is afterall Friday the 13 and I have to admit nothing is more spooky the entering a maze of washes, canyons and narrows in the middle of a dark storm. By the time I kept climbing down off the mountain through this wash I did come on out into some open desert. I could feel some relief but at the same time I had wondered if all that I heard was still following me. I could not see anything my glasses were so wet no matter even if I wiped them with my soaked shirt so thus I spent a couple hours walking blind only feeling my way through the region trying to get back to the crew of Haunted Highway.

While hiking through the open desert I could see not once but twice what appeared to be lights. I assumed the first set was from a vehicle on Route 165 and I was right. The second light was from the vehicles parked up in El Dorado Canyon which I was actually heading towards. I would not see the crew until I was right up onto them as eventually I would have to climb a steep embankment to get up onto the canyons road.

This is my personal log taken in the Uhaul that the crew rented to hold their camera gear. I was warming up didn't realize how bad my knee was. I split it  open to the bone it took over two months literally to heal. What happened was is Jack was in his SUV had the high beams on and as I walked up to talk to Dana Workman I fell on a wet sharp rock. It was bad enough the rain blinded me but the lights to made it worst. In this log I talk about the expedition for me it was a sweet victory and a fine finish to all the paranormal work I have done in this region over the year
s.

The original interview was supposed to take place at the location where I had my sighting. To answer my viewers questions no my name is not Rick Fisher and no I was not a local resident. I was literally years ago one of the first paranormal groups to work with the hell hounds and lore surrounding El Dorado. Originally my interview was supposed to take place at El Dorado Canyon then they moved me to the Nugget Casino in Searchlight. My beer is blurred out if you noticed and the long interview I gave about these hell hounds was cut down to a mere 20 seconds. It is ashamed that the show Haunted Highway cannot give paranormal scholars credit for their finds and their discoveries. It is all done to make the cast look like the experts when in fact they have no paranormal expertise whatsoever. I can tell you what shame on SyFy and base productions for ruining a really great interview. I had over a thousand emails of others stating they would have rather watched that full segment of me then a German Shepherd running through the sage brush. My interview was not scripted although they tried as I operate my own radio program, paranormal organization, done news editorials and been on television quite a few times prior to this interview for the El Dorado Hell Hounds Episode!
