At one time this was nearly the heart of a beast! A sea that rose throughout Nevada even covering parts of Northern California to Southern Oregon. Today very little is left of the sea minus a few wetlands and this dammed off lake from 1911. This sea was a place where red haired giants lived off off and at one time creatures the size of school buses swam along its shores. When the sea vanished then came man this basin tells of a tragic tale one with rape, murder, burning, raids, battle and greed. Today somewhere out there in front of us is the site where men have lied on this ground taking their last breath this site saddens me greatly. The land you see before is is tainted perhaps even cursed as some would theorize. Overland Station 150 was considered to be one of the finest ones of its kind as once Mark Twain spent the night here. Williams Station had a hotel, general store, corral, stage coach stop, black smith and even a saloon. It was rebuilt many times ending up with its final name called Honey Lake Smiths Station before eventually water would consume it completely and the site would be lost to mankind till now! What once was from sea to shining sea is now a dark cesspool where men were burned, killed, women were murdered and eventually the Paiute tribe who had been here for thousands of years was forced off there lands!
Lahontan is a sad place the dry lake beds are filled with debris such as tires, people come here to deal drugs like meth and crack and murders are taking place as bodies are being found dumped here like in the case of Alea Clark. We are entering a new era for Lake Lahontan what once was part of one of the grandest stage stations turned into a place of war, murder and tragedy is continue to lose its battle. As more and more lakes recede their is no doubt in my mind that more ruins of such stations and even gold rush towns will continue to become exposed.

My journey to Honey Lake and Williams Station turned me not into Lord Rick but to Lord Of The Mud Rings. Things are not always as they seem I found a knoll with some rocks which may have been some remnants of the station but nobody knows for sure afterall this place has only arose out of the waters of Lake Lahonton a couple times in a century. I could hear geese off in the distance but bird life was considerably low here. It would seem the desert here would reclaim itself once again with each mild winter that approaches. Despite the fact that there is no reservoir there is what we call ground water particularly around the tree stumps. At times you might find a boat ladder, anchor or piece of wood. What was I after and what would I find? If the station no longer existed its possible that the ghosts that haunt it do!
I begin to follow smaller tributaries of the Carson River as I was closing in on Williams Station and the Honey Lake area. Things were looking quite grim some of the mud was deep and some of those smaller tributaries dead end at large pools of water which are well over my waste. I would follow the tributary to this pool of my water journeying SE my goal was just to get to the station and nothing would not stop me. Not even these hunters who ran up to me in this video like a bunch of buffoons. If you pay very close towards the end of this video you will see that I was filming the hunters but I did not know they were there that is because they came out from behind tree stumps and would not be aware of this till after they talked to me which turned into them exhibiting signs of paranoia, delusional behavior and obviously hostility towards another Nevadan. This is what we call hick trailer trash someone who has no regards for another hiker and think that chasing me instead of the geese behind this dudes shoulder is more relevant then minding his own business! Wait till you see the next video just watch as it gets worst!

During my production preservation project on the history of Williams Station I encountered five hunters who approached me with immediate hostility as you will come to find out from this clip I have compiled. Now keep in mind this is a public state park people come here to camp, picnic, hike, metal detect and hunt all proceeds go to the state park.  After I worked hard to trudge through the mud they came rolling on in showing signs of hostility. They are wanted for questioning in regards to unlawful imprisonment, harassment, assault and terroristic threats directed towards me. I was not interrupting their hunt they just decided not to share the land with another fellow Nevadan thus humiliating me and taking away my freedom therefore I want to bring these men to justice and my goal is to clean up the trash in the Lake Lahontan area literally! This documentary is a detailed encounter with these hunters all the way from video footage, sound clips, photos and lastly a personal long segment which talks about my encounter with the hunters and the dark history that surrounds the area starting at the 13:55 time stamp. This area was once under an ancient sea later the white man came into the area built Williams Station which such stations became issues for the local natives though the station was burned and raided in a massacre. Later on this would lead to the Paiute Indian Wars and eventually a battle would be fought near the grounds of where these hunters stood. Later in 1881 the station being built once again would be called Honey Lake Smiths Station and a man killed an Irishman at this location who was rebuilding it for no reason and never was arrested then later came the dam in 1911 where everything was lost to nature. Today murder and death continues to occur in this area. The question is would I become another victim of the negativity that surrounds this area and become one with all the other tragedies that seem to be part of this land? Nothing would stop me from journeying where I had to go not guns, lawlessness or even hostile hunters who made a very serious mistake. If you know who these hunters are we believe them to be from Fallon, Fernley, Silver Springs, Dayton, Stage Coach or Winnemucca areas of Nevada. After profiling them I am certain that some of them may be stationed or work at the Fallon Naval Base or are ex military. Help us find them because if we do not god help anyone else who might encounter this group may not be as lucky as I was no matter I stood my ground as hunting here is a privilege and we must make sure that incidents like these do not happen in the future we have an obligation to make sure that the wild west does not become lawless and final conclusion to my experience with them is they were either poaching or dumb hicks. Lets get these guys afterall they give every other hunter a bad name this is not the 1800s! Since we base everything off of reality please remember this video is for mature audiences only!

We are sorry some of the footage is poor one of the hunters slung mud on my cam therefore to do the interview it was skipping, not focusing and recording as sharp as it should. So this is all I was able to put together and salvage from the incident no less its very incriminating evidence gone public to help find them.
As I pan back and forth to search for the hunters I had come to realize they left the area. Later I would watch two of them split towards the road across from Honey Lake. However my journey had to go on and it would as I would try to find anything I could of the old Honey Lake Station. I did find a few what I believe are fence post as the station did have a corral for horses and livestock here to sustain themselves but also because it was a large stage stop. I had to clean my cam off the only thing I had going for me is that for awhile I was out of the mud however as I begin my voyage back to the beach I encountered mud nearly up to my waste that is because one of the tributaries ran along the beach while another smaller one ran through the center of old honey lake. My journey must go on despite the mud, encounters with the hunters and all the obstacles I would face. I was destined to find any remnants of the past so that we could bring it to our viewers as this place is where one of the only wars in Nevada would ever transpire. Nothing would stop me I was motivated by history and the thought of ruins that had been underwater for decades. I felt like I was rediscovering something that had been lost to all of us and was forgotten.

After I would arrive back at the jeep you could see how muddy I was but I had to expect it. I had mud between my toes I had to take my shoes off they had so much mud around them that after this trek id have to go to a store and pick up another pair. In the end this video is an overview of my experience with the hunters but also about the in depth history that took place here. I often wonder what really happened that fateful night Williams Station was burned? Did some gamblers decide to rob the station killer its caretakers when they possibly lost all their money to the Williams Brothers? or Was there a couple squaws that were kidnapped and raped which led to a retaliation of the local Paiute Tribe which in turn led to the massacre and burning down of Williams Station? Perhaps we may never know but the area that I have laid out in front of you was the battle front for the Paiute Indian Wars/Pyramid Lake Indian Wars. This was a place scrimmages were fought but by the end of the day what it comes down to is that men died here and the hatred of these sacred grounds still exist today. There is no glory in war and hatred it only leads to more of it and hence today murder, death and tragedy continue to strike the area I have laid out before you. Perhaps the land is cursed or is this all just a coincidence? These grounds are sacred more or less a place where the deceased laid and there ghosts still wander wondering if they will ever have eternal peace! All the lives lost and for what? Where is the glory of any of this except the rich history and beauty which mask what really took place? Maybe something things are best left forgotten while others buried secrets we must unmask their hidden truths! I do feel the rangers or historians in the region need to put a plaque out there maybe even have the Williams Station area free from any hunting that way no further incidents occur.
