The Paranormal & Ghost Society

Have you ever been driving along then all of sudden you see something along the road that stands out and you just have stop? This is kind of what happened with this cemetery I was coming back from my kids doctors when I thought I seen a grave stone peering out from the sage brush. I did not visit here with the intent to find ghost however every good paranormal researcher should if possible visit these sites more then once if they are able to or at least during the day hours to help better their research.

I had no idea the name of the cemetery nor do I even know its history. However the one obvious thing about this burial ground is that sage brush had taken on over. I had been a little skeptical about hiking through this place snakes are not uncommon in NV and they will bite you if you get to close. There was not even an entrance just a fence that was down on the ground and allot of graves consumed by high desert.

I made a day tour film with my new camera it is an HD video recorder so that we could bring better quality movies to our viewers. So you can think of this exploration as a camera test and I was pretty impressed with our video quality here.

The cemetery sits by the Highway you would think people would take a glance at it but lets face it its forgotten. There were wood grave markers barely legible or laying on their sides. You had wrought iron fencing torn apart and some graves broken in half. Then you had some grave sites with a wall or fence around it yet the grave was completely gone. The only thing beautiful about all of this was the snowy mountains of the high sierras that serves as a backdrop for this burial ground and the wild flowers growing amongst the grave sites.

Where the road and cemetery meets there are a couple mail boxes perhaps for the two houses that reside behind the graveyard. However what I do not understand is how anyone can let this place become this deplorable it makes no sense to me. Most of the graves do date back to the mid 1800's yes but still what is it to spend a day or two with some garden tools to cut down the sage brush. I just do not understand how anyone or anybody can let this place get like that especially next to a highway where thousands per day pass on by never taking a glance.

Do you know why they do not take a glance? Its because it is deplorable and overgrown thus it is forgotten. At first I called this place pleasant Valley cemetery but even though it sits in that valley it actually is owned by Washoe City thus I believe most of the burials here are of native American origin. I could be wrong but the Washoe people for hundreds of years lived near where this cemetery is located and the lake which is just a little ways down the road from here.

I would like to return here to do an EVP session I didnt have any of my gear on me just the cameras so I filmed and photographed it so that others can wait with anticipation on a really great investigation here in the future.
