Haunting Of Eldorado Canyon & Jubilee Mine Nevada "THE MOVIE" - A Lord Rick & AngelOfThyNight Production!

The first time I laid eyes on this canyon was back around 1996 I went with someone from the government to visit the Jubilee Mine. Back then the road was nearly inaccessible this is before it became touristy for four wheeling, horseback riding and of course tours. When I first visited the mine it was full of candle wax, bones, symbols of the occult and I had an experience with seeing a horned entity in the mine it was the strangest thing. But it also opened up my eyes to wanting to see more. We would NOT return till 2008 when I filmed and produced this movie on 8mm tapes. I had the tapes converted or digitalized by a company so that years later our viewers could get the full experience and now its LIVE on your channel for all of you to see the fruits of our labor on this extensive project at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwxurVw26D0

Nelson Nevada was a booming gold and silver mining town. It was known for the Techatticup Mine. It was the Spanish that traversed the nearby Colorado River in 1775 where they discovered gold and silver in Eldorado Canyon. The Mining Boom was at his height in 1859 one of the largest in Nevada history. But the area also gained a reputation for being lawless and full of deserters from the Civil War. In fact Nevada's first serial killer lived here and he took the life of miners living in the canyon.

Mining was very active from 1858 till 1945 and the name of the town was changed to honor Charles Nelson who was a prospector and camp leader who was found murdered in his home in 1897. It was a lawless place where gold made men greedy. Which is why we focused so many times on the nearby Jubilee Mine where not only deadly mining accidents occurred but men were often murdered in the mine and buried there. I have heard rumors of hidden bodies in the mine making it one of Nevada's most haunted mines. In this video we do three different tiers of this mine, canvasing shafts, shimmying past them and trudging through water to get into the less scene chambers.

Many mining camps sprung up in the canyon and mines. The canyon was named by the 1857 steamboat entrepreneur Captain George Alonzo Johnson. At the end of the road is Nelsons Landing which the washes drain into the Colorado River at the end of the canyon. They had a port and even a restaurant here but a massive flash flood killed quite a few people decades ago wiping all of it from the face of the earth. So in addition to murders this area has scene some tragedy too. Rumor has it also many miners left there dogs chained up some of them dogs died it gets so hot in the summer the lack of water makes the place inhospitable especially to dogs. So phantom dogs are sighted here or as some call them hell hounds. I had an encounter on the road at night with one of these so called phantom dogs.

The Jubilee is one of the largest mines in the area its one of the strangest also. Its changed so much over the years some areas are not even accessible anymore but explorers all over Vegas come up here to check it out imagine what that was like back in the 90s when occultist went here to do rituals. Rumor has it there was a black dragon in a hypothetical sense and demonic entity that reigns deep within the mine fun perhaps myths no less. But what is real here is balls of light, disembodied voices, shadows, ghosts, whispers, strange noises and other happenings based on my experience. Not sure I ever been in a more haunted mine then here but its a place of tragedy and murder. The mine opened according to a friend of mine who is a local historian in the 1900's so it came much later then some of the other mines nearby but its close to Nelson so it was the main operable mine for many years here.

This footage is a mixed back we focus mainly on the Jubilee ill interview June and Boot who is a grid iron westerner in the San Juan Mining Camp. Will take you through the darkest parts of the mine so at times you will see nothing so imagine how we endured with barely any light. This was not a state of the art camera in fact it did not even have a light built into it at the time just a simple 8mm camera, a couple dim flashlights and my team descending down into the depths. It has its suspenseful parts too trust me we heard some strange things exploring. Ill stop in Nelson and film a couple times to and we have other film on youtube of the area if you want to check out our website editions so see the links below. But the main focus of this video is really the Jubilee and Nelson.

At the end of the video is a massive gallery with music of photos collected from our case files including team pictures, EVP's and video etc. In fact the gallery boast all of our work in the area from Nelson, Nelsons Landing, Nelson Hilltop Mine, The Pittsburgh Mine, The Gettysburg Mine, Skull Mine, San Juan Mining Camp and alas tons of pictures of the Jubilee Mine inside and outside. At one time when you descended down here in the 90's it use to say at the entrance welcome to hell. It may have been hell for some miners who went down into this mine and never came out again. Supposedly, their is quite a few bodies buried at the dry river beds to so I been told. On top of that the area is full of UFO sightings and all around full of the paranormal based on my case work.

The movie gives you a taste of what it means to be a paranormal investigator the hardships of our work trudging through water, dealing with obstacles, dangers, exploring etc. In fact there is three films all meshed together as one and the finale is visiting the mine at night after dark because we were trying to seek out the paranormal aspect of it rather then just the exploration part. So now we put the movie into your hands and hope our viewers will enjoy this project for years to come. I have spent quite a few times in Nelson even made a few friends here who filled me in on the areas strangeness and I was part of the crew for SYFYs Paranormal Highway it was our case that led to them filming here I just was not happy when they were faking hell hounds when they promised me they would not do that and in the future Ghost ADVENTURES wants to do a show here which I have no doubt they will not be truthful about this location so we are putting the movie out and setting the record straight! Now our movie is released years later but its here and its for all of you to indulge in as it was meant to be!

I have named this location the Sedona of southern Nevada since its a very alluring, mysterious and historical location. If their was a wild west this would be the place it existed. As you know I made this page a long time ago just to document the fact that it was a place we worked with at Click Here: Nelson or anotherwards the many years ago I visited the Jubilee mine and canyon.

Of course today is alot different then years ago. Years ago I was not as experienced of a photographer or paranormal investigator. Years ago when I visited here I was told these words. Now I showed you the Mine and you seen things. The more you see the more you will want to do and just a few years later I took hold of My Paranormal & Ghost Society in search of the truth.

I had no way of knowing if I would ever return. It took me a couple years to find out the area let alone the name. I had to do searches for ghost towns....etc even went to the library and some mining sites. Many years ago I was taken here and its changed. Years ago the ghost town was falling apart today its being restored new houses are being built around it.  Years ago it was a dirt road to get to the mines sometimes with some pretty big rocks scattered today its paved. Years ago the mine had many areas that were accessible today you either have to traverse through flooded chambers, collapsed areas and find alternative routes.

This area was my biggest investigation of 2008 and I saved it for the month of October as it would be divided into a three part series "Lord Rick's Return"......"The Descent" and "Darkness Falls" on this front page you will see action shots of our exploration.

I know that the Nelson page should be blended with this page along with that investigation I did many years ago but technically it was a whole different place and time 12 years ago. Today I am able to provide the public with more such as videos, EVP's and beautiful photos of the area as well as within Jubilee.

Jubilee mine was one of the largest mines in southern Nevada despite the other mines in El Dorado brought in more gold this mine for some reason had more deaths then the others. Over the years their were Indian Raids, Murder, Massacres, Shootouts and strange accidental deaths. Even today the deaths continue to occur in the area. I read something spray painted on a rock about how this could be your final tomb and they are not kidding. If you are NOT careful within this place it could mean things can go bad real quick.

This project I put together is a combined Urban Exploration Paranormal Adventure so its very special to both my fans, members, views, Deggi 5 and others who support the Paranormal & Ghost Society.  The area sits in a special location nestled in the mountains eventually the road dead ending at the lake where of course serves as sort of a potters field.

When I posted my report people laughed at me saying this guy Lord Rick is full of shit. But were not their are historical plaques explaining the shootouts.  Many settlers  in this canyon were fighting over gold rumor has it their is not a hundred mines but hundreds.  It is home to Nevada's first serial killer! It is not a newly developed area either back in the 1700s the Spaniards came here to gather gold then during the Civil War soldiers who did not want to fight mined here instead.  El Dorado Canyon a very notorious reputation for wealth but even tragedy.

The entire canyon has subterranean levels of mines and natural caves.  Jubilee is cut right into a mountain all the way around with shafts and tunnels. However years later Jubilee has started to break down and its collapsing. One area had a tunnel that descended down slowly that is under water.  Just as some tunnels dead ended because they collapsed over time. Our team did a good job covering 90 percent of the Jubilee rumor has it that underneath it their is a tunnel that goes for about a mile of course today that would either be under water or inaccessible due to some areas no longer being accessible. That tunnel probably had a railroading tunnel for carts that would hall the ore and quartz back to daylight for separation

It appears the Jubilee is not just a mine but a cave to one can see areas where the rock is not cut just giant chambers and high cathedral ceilings in some areas. Back 12 years ago their was a pool of water rumor had it that you could swim to a cavern. Also 12 years ago the giant stone door which boasted a secret no longer exist someone either dynamited it or hacked away at it with a pick ax then hauled all the rocks out.

Over the years I hear stories maybe that is all they are about this being the place of the gateway to hell. I think we all perceive hell in different ways. Maybe its not but the idea of portals could exist here realistically and logically. You see let me explain something to you about this area it has UFO activity, occult activity, and alot of unsolved mysteries. When I visited here one of the mountains had 3 visible giant holes on its side. When I went inside the Jubilee and came back out a few hours later those caves on the side of the mountain vanished. I named them the disappearing caverns.. Its possible that the portal said to be near Jubilee is actually around the mountain next to it not inside. Over the years UFOlogist suspected that flying saucers use portals to travel between their world and ours. This would explain the glowing object around the mountain and the UFO I captured over it case closed!

Its a long stretch of 18 miles no gas and a semi ghost town which is now the site of mine tours and souvenirs their really is not anything out here. Years ago when I drove through here I seen a few small trailers and people in ripped clothes staring out there curtains some even stopping what they were doing just to watch us slowly go by. It was alot scarier 12 years ago then today. Today the townsfolk have developed a safer much more independent community here and the area is starting to get noticed by hikers and tourist. Unfortunately because of that its drawling in alot of vandals people who come out here just to dump in the mines or spray paint the rocks.  Read my warning and heed it below!

The area has been inhabited by the native American people for thousands of years it was obvious that they were exonerated when others came looking for gold. At the end of the canyon is the lake Mead/Colorado River area thus making a perfect location for them. But the Spaniards got off the boat here and they explored the area. Gold was abundant more then likely one could see it protruding out of the rocks in some of the quartz veins.  The lake at the end of the Canyon became a steamboat landing people began to come in from off of the boat setting up camp. The native Americans would lead the Spanish to the gold veins much of which runs along a fault line.

Eventually over 500 people had camp set up in the canyon thus Nelson was formed.  Of course that settlement before Nelson was called El Dorado in 1775 by the Spaniards. One of the first mines in the area was the Techatticup Mine which was formed in the mid 1800s along with many other mines. However the Spaniards were already mining in the 1700s or rather they had slaves who did their work so their are no actual dates on any of the mines really. Rumor has it that Jubilee is lot older then its operating date. Not just gold was mined but also silver, copper and even lead also. Today that gold is still in these mountains hidden from public eyes. To me the paranormal is like gold so that is why I decided to put so much work into this project.

Some of the locals have told me they hear screams at night or some of the ghost will come out of the mines to haunt there land. Alot of the owners own a mine or two in this area some have mines right in there back yard. Its actually very interested to know that so many movies been filmed out here but those movies do not portray the dark history within the canyon as I have. We are showing you what is beyond the road taken what is up in these hills and what the tourist do not see while taking there family on a picnic to the river at the end of the road.

Back in the 1860s a wealthy Chinese Man came to the area he lived in a two story stone house just outside the San Juan mining camp which we also visited on our third excursion to El Dorado. Small stone houses were where the miners lived they would sometimes fit as many as 8 people in a small 10 by 10 foot room.  But this man had a two story house and each month after he had enough gold and silver bars he would ride to the river by ox down the steep grade with wood brakes. It would take him an entire day to reach the Colorado River where he would sell them half of what they were worth by steam boat.

You hear tales like about the 81 year old lady who lived in a stone house up on a plateau, a man who lived in a cave, and the spring which holds cleaner water then even in Las Vegas. Although life was not easy the location is beyond perfect. Gold and other minerals are still abundant a man by the name Boot showed me some of it in the mines!

I want to pass this Warning on to those who trespass within Nelson and this canyon. The locals are some pretty great people I have become to understand there way of life here and the areas history. They are the law and yes they will shoot you if you go into their mines. I have interviewed a few people over the years. Everybody is armed and some of them who catch vandals will cut fingers off I am sorry but they own the mines they own the town and therefore this land belongs to them.  I am a little less worried about traversing in the canyon because like I said I know a few of the locals and I am basically trying to promote their tours and bring some restoration to the area.  So those living in Nelson and the canyon are friends to our society. But remember do not vandalize I have seen alot of trash, spray paint, glass and debris in the desert. Its NOT right so if you decide you want to visit here go see my friend  boot and get yourself a horseback tour its safe its legal and he is very well informed of the history. Even better yet take one of the mine tours.... Eldorado Canyon Mine Tours, Inc. you can get a tour of the Techatticup Mine.  This mine has a sinister past as many labor disputes occurred resulting in death and shootouts over ownership.

Near one of the look out points their is an old stamp mill and old crusher left behind. They would crush the ore and rock down. Then mix cyanide with it thus which sticks to the minerals then melt it into a bar. It was quite an operation but gold and minerals meant greed. Eventually all the mines became abandoned when miners were offered during the wars 10 dollars an hour or perhaps a day rather then 10 dollars a month to live in the desert risking there lives. This is the Wild West!

Today the canyon has grown to be a tourist location for hikers, horseback riders, kayakers, and off roaders.  Its an area growing with popularity but it still is one of the best kept secrets in the desert so much history and its proven to be haunted. Granted the other dark side to it was the dark rituals which use to be practiced here.  I have noticed that most of the areas appear to have been cleansed of that such as occult symbols are crossed out.....in one case one mine has a holy bible laying at the entrance. It appears that the people of Nelson are taking back there land and we are lucky enough for them to share it with us and now my story shall be told to the entire world. I am Lord Rick an AngelOfThyNight I am a crusader of the truth I am the paranormal and the paranormal is me. El Dorado is now a part of me nobody could ever take that away I was the first 12 years ago and I returned to share this with friends to our society.  El Dorado was not only the location of another investigation but we made our mark in the history books with our 800th investigation in this region!
