Scott's Lake California can be accessed via Big Meadow Trail or from a jeep trail that connects to Hope Valley California. Some people prefer to offroad on in others like me prefer to hike through this lush region of the Sierras edging the Carson Range. Scott's Lake is one of the many lakes found within this Tahoe Basin where the Truckee River flows through thus this is kind of like a lost world back here or at least adheres to that feeling.

I have done much Bigfoot research in connection to this basin such as working with Meiss & Round Lake/Meiss Homestead, Lake Dardanelles and even Showers Lake. Scott's Lake completes most of our itinerary with this region but puts us closer to reaching our final destination at a place called Four Lakes which is seperated by smaller ridges found in this basin and mountains. If it is one thing I found out its that anything could be hiding back here in the summers the temperatures are fair and the meadows are lush. Plenty of wildlife, flowers, deer, fresh water and places for something to hide as at one time the last ice age carved this region out like fresh meat on a slab. Our experiences with UFOs and Bigfoot surrounding this basin are quite fascinating and we feel that their just might be a connection in the region between the two. For example prior to us photographing UFOs near Scott's Lake we filmed a bipdal dark creature in the woods running from left to right before hiding behind a broken tree.

The trail itself is considered moderate as you start off in the Luther Pass on the opposite side of where Jobs and Genoa Peaks are located. Only difference is instead of being in the NV valleys you are in the Ca woodlands of the high sierras. Not much seperates the two except for the range as this region south of Lake Tahoe is in the warmer months like a jungle filled with rocks the size of houses and a massive meadow abundant with wildlife and flowers.

Once you ascend up to Big Meadow the very steep climb for hundreds of feet you will eventually level off for awhile then ascend to Scott's Lake. Instead of heading off to other lakes through the Big Meadow your actually going to stay to your left as it takes you parallel with it and eventually into a much narrower canyon overshadowed by the mighty Waterhouse Peak which stands at about 9,500' in elevation very difficult climb with little shade. You will eventually see the Carson Range to your left while to your right a ridge of smaller peaks which seperate the valleys.

From the trail you will see great views of the Big Meadow, Scott's Lake and many prominent peaks including Red Peak which we have climbed over numerous times. When you are passing by Big Meadow keep in mind lots of creeks and a very lush forest at times hence many bugs in the early hours of the morning. Their are parts of the trail so over grown you might have to push through it a little but its not to bad just something else to keep in mind but the wild flowers along the trailhead are impressive.

As you climb gradually most of the way to the lake you will pass through Firs, Jefferey Pines and Limber Pine forestry. Its very mixed because many other types of trees grow here so in the Fall its supposed to be beautiful. If you hike it from the other end you can hike through an aspen grove where you can see juniper and sage brush changing colors within the valley near the jeep road. Allot of people visit the lake to enjoy the muddy and sandy beaches found here. I seen a man on his dirt bike doing stunts he nearly lost it a few times but that is the only thing that took away the peace and quiet for our first half hour here otherwise this is a very serene location. Its obvious hardcore hikers build shelters on its shores as much as people twice as old as me enjoy a hike with there dogs. Its really an all around location to hike with its great views, flowers and moderate ascensions.

Little did I know this lake may have been carved by glaciers but not formed by them anotherwards the lake itself is manmade. This explains the hundreds of tree stumps we found. Although due to mild winters it is as a much lower level some of the stumps protrude out of the water itself. Off in the distance one can see Pickett and Hawkins Peak which overshadows a bigfoot hot spot at called Burnside Lake. To get to the lake from the trailhead you will see it from the jeep trail which intersects with the road that is when it opens up into a giant lake basin with the pretty views we captured below on this page. You get to the lake via jeep you can take a dirt road that leads you through the high sierras right to the lakes shore from Hope Valley.

This is an area with allot of strange places and what I do know is that this lake basin seems to be some sort of migratory grounds for this creature. I am not sure if its the lush forest and waters that draw them in or the fact that they can move about in any direction going up into a vast series of mountains that are hard to reach by man. I have heard growling, groaning, branches snapping, measured several tracks and experienced tree banging numerous times while working out here. I am not sure why these UFOs or Bigfoot tracks appear out of nowhere its a strange feeling here like your always being watched like your never alone even if you hike the basin in the cooler months and have the place to yourself.

Although our first expedition to the lake did not reveal much it did teach us the camera is much faster then the eye as we captured some UFOs which could be relevant with all the Bigfoot activity surrounding this lake. Afterall my experiences with the paranormal are quite vast when it comes to personal experiences of the strange in this region. Considering that this area resides on the edge of the Sierra Triangle I guess anything can defy explanation when it comes to the strange. If you do not put yourself in situations where you may witness such events you will see nothing but if you take a few risk you will see everything!
