Sand Hill Road sits on an Indian reservation and is rumored to be haunted and also reports of shape shifters have been sighted here. The road runs about 2 and half miles and the abandoned tracks that use to cross it have been removed. At one time I am sure it was a dirt road since the pavement looks fairly recent as most reservations are starting to pave the roads for easier driving. There is many houses that sit back in the woods unlike most haunted roads. At an early time almost all houses here are pitch black or dark.

The road is heavily wooded in various sections and it is not the most comfortable road to drive down late at night. There is an odd feeling of being watched from the woods as you slowly drive down its curves. Like most Native American territories there are many ghost stories, creatures seen in the woods, myths such as Shamans, Shape shifters, Sasquatch and the little people. Perhaps even High Hat roams here. Anybody who is brave enough to walk this road at night has to be crazy because you do not even see the Native Americans out here at night. Very few cars even travel the road and if they do they travel extremely fast down it. Also based on some research there has been car accidents here. Did these people meet there fate due to a supernatural force or was it just coincidence?

Sand Hill has an illustrious history, which may be what gets the folkloric wagon train rolling. There used to be an old sawmill on the road, and the eminent Seneca leader Ely Parker was born here. At one point about a mile onto the Reservation on Sand Hill Road they've seen what they call "changelings." (By the use of this old European term they mean shape shifters like the old Celtic druids. They appear as people with animal features, like a fox tail or bear ears. Usually these animal-people are thought to be shamans or witches either caught in the act of transformation or careless about the wind-down.) The Iroquois have a vivid fairy lore of their own, and the Little People, too, have been reported on this road, as well as something new I don't want to visualize called "mole people."

Warning: This is native American land and the rules are much different on the reservations then our own laws. This road is dangerous and also has some houses on it. The locals will get angry if they see camera flashes, flashlights, and people walking around there sacred grounds. Please use respect and we will not be held accountable for any of the dangers you may encounter on this road.
