The ascension starts off in the foothills of Carson City where we would start just before the sun came over the Virginia/Pine Nut Mtn. Ranges. As we ascended we came across a few lone bucks one of them was showing signs of hostility so our only salvation would be a bright sun and journeying on cautiously. We would follow an old road which ascended above Washoe and Eagle Valley eventually we would leave it to search for the strange. Our journey would take us over the Carson Ranges rim for nearly six miles to various historic sites and a beautiful lake nestled in the national forest as we would leave the high desert behind.	Slide Mountain nearly looks a stone throws away. The mountain has been deteriorating for 50k years. In 1982 a massive mudslide and collapse took out 15 structures and took a life. When this area was being timbered many of the lumberman seen Slide Mountain although it looked much differently in the 1800's.

From the bottom of Eagle Valley to many miles to the eastern shorts of Lake Tahoe is considered to be part of the Carson Wilderness. Many of the trees been cut down here in the logging days so these hills which climb up to the rim of the Carson Range thus leaving behind allot of brush and offering little shade. As you ascend however you will began to see more trees, wildlife as you leave the desert ecosystem and enter a more forested one.	This is really where the adventure begins we no longer are on any trails rather we push through brush, steep hill sides, over rocks and checking decomposed granite for strange tracks. If you really pay attention in this video you will see that now that were above the foothills our next goal would be to began our ascension over the peaks that awaited us ahead a journey to the top.

Leaving the trail paid off up along a steep hill we found a series of tracks I have not only filmed the tracks but I also integrated a couple of photos of them. Strangely after we followed them they just vanish into thin air. Later that night not to far from where we found these tracks something big came at us through the forest its eyes reflected back at me and were very high off the ground. My son also seen some four legged black creature that had no eyes and leaped off the cliff nearby at night on our journey back. I have no idea what they are but we knew we might be tracking a monster or perhaps that was the monster tracking us?	Eagle Valley from above is beautiful with great views of Carson we soon would be to deep in the Carson Range to see civilization. Eagle Valley also has great views of the Pine Nut Mountain Range and from above all the leaves on the trees that change colors was a truly beautiful site to see as we began to climb up into the national forest.

Established in 1873 this water company built an iron pipeline when the Hobart Reservoir, Martlette and Spooner Lake could be harvested for its water. Due to the heavy growth of the Comstock Lode of Virginia City this state of the art pipeline brought water from the sierras nearly 30 miles over the Virginia Range. Today many sites can be seen left behind from the old waterworks such as pipes, dams and even a monitoring station called Red House which you will see footage of in this series. If you like old rusty things then this really is the clip for you its an awesome site to stumble upon and if you pay attention you will see more of the waterworks along Franktown Creek!	From thousands of feet above you get to see the beautiful fertile land of Washoe Valley. Back in the day lower Franktown operated many ranches which provided food for the Comstock. While the lower portion grew food the upper portions industry was lumbering. This is one of the most gorgeous views of Washoe Valley and Lake which resides north of Eagle Valley and Carson City Nevada.

This steam boiler and a few remnants are all that remains of the Sierra Nevada Wood and Lumber Company. Two famous investigators were involved with many of the saw mills including this one including Marlette and Walter Hobart. At one time over 200 saw mills graced this area harnessing the creeks, flumes and timber in the area. Just a short distance away they called this area saw mill canyon all of them gone accept this remnant from the 1870's which is a reminder of the lumbering industry that boomed here. The boiler might be rusted or look like a submarine but this truly is a piece of early saw mill history!	First you seen the high desert now you are getting to see the lush very unique Toiyabe National Forest. Many of the rocks are stacked from years of erosion, weathering and glacier movement from the last ice age. The forest is very thick that is because the lumbering came to an end in the later 1800's leaving behind 2nd and 3rd generation alpine trees. We are now journeying in the sierras and entering a bold new world leaving behind the high desert. Where will we go next and what will we find? Our journey would take us another few miles as we would head to the Hobart and eventually The Red House.

The Hobart today is a place where families swim and outdoor enthusiast swim at. The reservoir did not always exist but like many sites in the sierras this was dammed off to be used to supply Virginia City and even today Carson City with fresh water. Thought the trees we could see the reservoir and its pristine waters. The oasis was formed in the 1870s by the Virginia Gold Hill Water Company.	The forest is full of beauty I mean even in the fall we still found some wild flowers and plenty of nature like these beautiful deer roaming the forest we came so close to. But while there is beauty not to far away your going to see this weird patch of earth we came across where the leaves had been cleared and something scratched the soil. Perhaps a bear or maybe something else of unknown origins in the region? No less I found it strange to be near an area where the deer are herding it makes perfect sense.

Were in the heart of upper frank town which at one time had many saw mills running in this canyon that is how it had gotten its nickname Sawmill Canyon. The creek you see below is the heart of Franktown without the waters of the creek there would be no flumes, saw mills for lumbering or a town site below the range that was so fertile that it raised livestock and crops for the people of the Comstock Lode.	The Red House was a monitoring station for the Virgina Gold Hill Waterworks. Its a haunted site my son and I heard little kids giggling in the woods yet we were alone up here minus the horseback riders who stayed on the wagon road. Houses like these could be found along the creeks and reservoirs in order to monitor the pipelines and dams in the region that supplied water to the Comstock of Virginia City. Sadly on one fateful night in 1911 the wives of two caretakers were killed when the dam broke and yes the site is haunted. In this clip ill take you on the wagon road to the Red House all the way on the grounds to an actual exploration of the inside of it so you get everything in regards to this historic property located deep in the national forest.The house is a bit eerie it also has a 1924 dodge parked out front of it and could be considered to be one of the last remaining remnants of upper Franktown.

Surrounding the reservoir is allot of Marshland and foliage. If you watch this clip you will see that I recorded some vocalizations. We had heard a few but when we reached the reservoir they kept continuing as the sun was going down. The shoreline along the reservoir makes it very difficult to track find due to the tall brush in some areas. Also during the filming of this video was hit on the shoulder with something whether it came off a tree above or was thrown at me I have no clue I just know that first we heard vocalizations followed by this incident which I brushed off because there are squirrels in the trees. However what if Sasquatch also hid in the trees I think its quite plausible.	The Toiyabe Forest has allot of caves, dens and rock formations like you see in this clip. There are cougars in this area they generally reach up to 200bs and black bear which need allot of calories this time of year for hibernation. We have to remain vigilant crossing through here because at sun down there are dangers that lurk especially in this area were traversing through. In these videos I do allot of Bigfoot blotter also so if you like that kind of thing then we hope you enjoy the videos especially when we are in the high sierras.

This is a bonus cut I called where two worlds collide. What your seeing here at sunset is where the high desert of NV meets the alpine forest of the Sierras. Below to the left is Washoe Valley to the right is Eagle Valley. they certainly are stunning from this altitude and at dusk.	Nightfall has set in prior to shooting this clip I seen something very large standing above us in a narrow pass on the old wagon road. I did not think much about it till a few hundred feet later we reached this plateau where I filmed Reno, Carson and Washoe City from above showing off the city lights of the valleys below the sierras. While I was filming the video whatever was in the woods following us and with the tall eye shine came out of the brush onto the plateau then leaped off the cliff it was not an animal or even remotely close to being Bigfoot but it may have been the same creature that left those tracks we found earlier at sun up. My son after this clip was trembling so bad he wont hike with me at the Hobart again he is done he seen something that changed his life forever.

While in most of our clips you seen upper Franktown lower Franktown below the Hobart at the base of the sierras was very fertile thus many ranchers grew crops for the Comstock while other townsmen worked at the saw mills in the canyons above. This is a short drive through franktown with some photos today not much remains but a few old ranches, barns and the cemetery which the road on into it has been gated by local residents denying us of this historic landmark and last remaining connections to the lumber & ranching town itself so it was a bit of a disappointment but at the same time we did get to see some of the beauty that resides surrounding where the town once resided.
