One of the most exhilarating things about what it is we doing is heading on out into the night seeking out the unknown. Especially when your offroading through the mountains exploring ghost towns you never know what you may find or come across at any moment.

We would leave much later at night so that we could explore the ghost town of Pine Grove into the later hours of the night. Little did I know that we would not arrive out here till after 2am lol. Which I will explain further in this report.

This was an old fashioned PGS investigation and a crazy one if that. You know you are truly dedicated when your ghosthunting till the sun comes up ha.

I went to pick up Kyle at the bottom of the Kingsbury grade for some reason we missed one another as he drove right past me lol. So he had to turn around and find us. His roommate was kind enough to send with us some cupcakes with us for the investigation so that was really awesome. Just the great people I continue to meet out here really lets me know that I made the right decision relocating to this region.

We left from there headed out into the Nevada high desert which is full of mountains, canyons, forest, and red cliffs. Of course at night going into the desert takes a little more know how as its 10 times more dangerous. I miss going out into the desert at night so being under the stars would be a real treat for the crew and I.

We would head through the desert then into the Toiyabe National Forest which is a mix of pine and sage brush desert. The problem was we ended up making a wrong turn ending up heading into the middle of the national forest down many unmarked roads. I spent at least 5 hours driving down narrow dirt roads and over boulders. This road was really treacherous as we drove over creeks and through the national forest for miles. Hell I didn't even know where we were heading and gas was almost on empty all I could think is please let this take me to civilization.

I know it was intense for the crew as I drove along cliffs and at night you cannot see how far down it is. Strangely I kept driving down this road I thought would lead us to the ghost town. We ended up going so high up in the mountains we hit snow to top it off ending up in California on the south side of Lake Topaz lol. As I came through the canyon low and behold there was a chevron lol!

We filled up on gas I went into station to study there atlas thankfully the clerk let me and we found out that we had to take the next state route up along the national forest. I was a bit disheartened as we already wasted a tank of gas and as you know were self funded so money is very tight for these investigations.

Eventually we would find the unmarked road that would take us deep into the desert. I had fun speeding down this road it was a very well maintained dirt road up until we hit our turn off which would be a much more narrow hill dirt road. This road at times confused me as there were many times the road split on off so we had to use our better judgement which Tammy who helped me navigate led us right into the ghost town of Pine Grove.

Pine Grove Nevada

We were greeted with stone ruins as we approached the ghost town. There was also a wood sign which went into a bit of history about this location. We were in a very remote region miles from even the main road in this canyon filled with sage brush and pines.

The canyon we were in was very narrow allot of sheer cliffs with roads going along them. The ruins were more then likely a saloon we did find allot of broken glass inside of them as sage brush was growing through the floor.

We decided to walk the road that is when we registered high EMF readings as we passed various plots where at one time miner cabins once stood. The road actually took us back to the main road although we walked through some of the desert searching for foundations.

It was a cool night about 23 degrees out there were also a few meteors falling from the sky burning up. I almost felt as if the area was to quiet. I didn't see any wildlife not even a rabbit. Earlier when I was lost we seen hundreds of rabbits running across the road one of them ran directly under my truck. But at Pine Grove there is a considerable lack of life here except its ghost.

It was hard to believe a town sat all the way out here once that boasted saloons, hotels and shops. All the areas with clearings you could tell at one time had something standing in its place. There were also these wood post in each open area marking where a structure once stood with a pile of rocks.

We were at about 9000' up so the air was crisp and thin. Hiking up some of the hilly roads was a complete workout. After our hike we decided to drive to other parts of the town some of them very steep graded roads leading to other structures. There was allot of debris scattered through the town site including a manmade trench and wall which probably stored water for the mines.

We would encounter an old wood schoolhouse near one of the cliffs. Right next to the schoolhouse was an old stamp mill and some foundations. The schoolhouse had allot of names engraved in the wooden walls. There was no windows and their was a crawlspace we couldn't reach as the ceilings were very high. It was a historic wonder and one of the ghost towns finest structures. Many of the other structures were recently burned by vandals so very little remains except a couple buildings including the schoolhouse.

The EMF activity was not very high here however we did get some readings over near the stamp mill next door. The mill was built into the side of the cliff and there were a couple mines however they were sealed shut. I am a bit let down about them being sealed as they were no danger to anyone yet the state recently has plans to close a majority of its mines all because of careless trespassers. I been going to mines for the last few years and they are an important part of American History sadly most of them no longer exist. The entrances to the mines were filled with dirt these were mines that at one time made millions.

Our next stop would take us to an old boarding house which was the strangest site of all. This also was the site my EMF detector broke. I am saddened because it will be weeks before I can afford to buy a new one so if anybody wants to donate one to our group or make a donation on paypal at pondercorp57@yahoo.com I would truly feel blessed. If we didn't get lost id be able to get a new one but shit happens.

The boarding house was completely made of wood and gutted although it is one of the largest structures at the Pine Grove town site. The downstairs was filled with dirt so I had to duck due to my height to work my way around the smaller rooms. Tammy handed me a very large vertebrae she found downstairs in the boarding house. It was as big as my fist and after studying it I came to the conclusion it probably came from a horse but not for certain.

We shut off our lights and spent sometime in the dark upstairs. I did an EVP session while I listened for any noise and thought I heard something out in the brush surrounding the boarding house. Moments later I heard what sounded like machinery possibly drums banging according to Tammy. Keep in mind we were in a canyon in the middle of the desert miles from any living human or roads. I thought it was odd I have to admit it was fairly close by and it sounded as if the town was becoming alive.

Near the boarding house was also a wood garage which we explored as well. Although the garage was fairly inactive it was obvious that only certain areas of the town had activity while others had none at all. It was very erratic as it would come and go throughout the town. However we stopped using the EMF at the boarding house and garage as it would no longer register readings as if it read so high earlier the needle became stuck.

We spent the remainder of the night driving down dirt roads as I wanted to try and find anything else worth investigating. Many of the roads were pretty rugged there was a few times they dead ended. Imagine going down a narrow dirt road along a cliff then having to turn around there is no margin for error believe me. At one point my tires were stuck on the loose rock good thing for having four wheel drive it was intense. The roads around town are much like a maze as they go up and around little hills around the canyon. One of the roads I went down went straight down I literally was staring straight down at the ground lol. I am sure there is more to see but some of them were bad as it is surprised we made it down some of the roads around town seriously.

Based on my studies there was two other structures I never found and a cemetery. More then likely the cemetery sits in the high brush that's probably why we never found it. I drove around shining my spotlight out of my truck and everything looked the same. There were pines and sage brush covering most of the canyon some of it so thick you couldn't even traverse through.

One of the roads passed by an old stone foundation while one of them I drove down was overgrown with giant rocks. You could hear the brush and rocks hitting the underside of my truck. It was very intense at times my investigators probably thought we would not make it as I took the truck on some of the most intense roads ever in NV.

By the time was coming up I had taken most of the roads around town there were a few I didn't take though there is a mine at the one of them but the only way back to it is to hike on in its bad real bad. You can always tell the mining roads as they are littered with rocks that fell off from the ox wagons. One of those roads I hiked on alone earlier in the investigation while my team hiked on the road below but didn't find anything but a few tailings from another collapsed mine.

At this point the sun started to ride you could see the shadows of all the mountains. Everyone was falling asleep Tammy asked me if I was tired I was like no lol. Once I get in a rhythm I can go all day and night especially if I am into my work. Considering I drove hundreds of miles at this point I was however wishing to go home eat a nice piece of apple Dutch pie lol.

My last stop would be at this gated area not sure what it is or why its there thought maybe I found the cemetery and maybe I did. Perhaps nothing remains of it but nonetheless I still had to check it out real briefly. The fence was very old all the way around so perhaps this was it its ashamed if no graves were around to photograph though.

As I drove through the canyon I would be taking two very long dirt roads back to civilization. The team fell asleep I took there photos lol. I probably should have gotten out to take some photos. The red cliffs and rocks were amazing. I could not believe how remote of a location we were in just thousands of hills and mountains rippling all around me as I drove through this big open desert speeding not having to worry about anything just enjoying the scenery!

When we hit the main road we had a fairly long trip back home I was just chilling drinking my power aid and ate a cupcake. For some reason I had drank to much coffee and all so yeah I had to pee by the side of the road. Kyle woke up probably was like where the hell are we because the entire ride home is through the high desert with very little civilization. During the day and during the night is two different worlds in this region.

Arriving home felt pretty good we had a great investigation and we made the most of the night despite dealing with getting lost down a zillion dirt roads. Nothing is marked in the region some dirt roads go for 100 miles so if you get stuck or break down you are screwed. I try never to think about that I consider myself to be a really awesome offroader and can usually go around sharp rocks without even flinching.

After some shuteye I took Kyle back home he lives up at Tahoe it was a nice day in the 60's you cant ask for more this time of year. But man it was cold out in the ghost town only in the 20's so a big difference. Kyle told me they have a boat so when it warms up were going to do some investigations for Tessie up at Lake Tahoe and Emerald Bay it should be some really awesome adventuring that will be bringing to our fans and viewers.

I did interview the team a little bit they felt that it was a pretty cool site and haunted to an extent. There was some EMF activity and some unexplainable noises. I do believe the hotel/boarding house was the strangest location we toured of the night. But as I said the activity came and gone throughout the night. We did do some nice night hiking along these cliffs under the stars and did allot of old fashioned getting dirty exploring.

I guess this is why they call it the wild west! In two weeks we are visiting two very old historic cemeteries a December special. Id definitely love to revisit this ghost town again however many more do await for us to search for the unknown! It was an intense night full of obstacles and the strange! The only downside to it all is our equipment breaks then we have to replace it and sadly some of our members do not understand the cost of all of this. We cannot do this alone so I ask everyone to pitch in helping out when they can so that we can continue to bring you guys only the best!

I want to thank those who are dedicated to building a solid team and working hard on our investigations. I consider my team like my family we all work together to help one another. Very soon will be bringing on two more adventurers which means will have a full crew. Its my one goal considering some show when they feel like it or do not show any dedication towards what we do. Ill admit the work we do isn't easy we go out into the cold and by the end of a night were dirty. But it has its rewards some of these places we see are amazing and everytime we visit them we are making history!
