After years of planning my paranormal group is finally living the dream. Like most paranormal hotspots we do in the next few years these locations exist within the Sierra Nevada's. I owe the general public an apology as I spent Jan. Feb. and a portion of March of 2011 making the proper preparations so that The Paranormal & Ghost Society could devote more time into the exploration of Nevada's and Californias strangest places.

So many new things were brought to our group such as new paranormal equipment, new members, equipment for our paracomedy radio show to enhance the show even more, Not only that but I have plans to do another 1000 locations in the next decade.

Even though we been around for a decade moving to a new place or relocating your paranormal group is a huge change. So far we have had at least 50 people interested in our forums and investigations. Most of the people are rather excited that we are now based just outside of Reno and Carson City.

For me life is different here everything moves a little slower its very laid back. Most people I meet snowboard.....toke up in the mountains.......and everyone is rather friendly. I adopted a new dog who also will be on some of my cryptozoological investigations.

So far all I have done the last past month is explore offroading to various locations....touring ghost towns.....finding abandoned eerie sites to explore. To even show my commitment towards my group we have purchased a 4x4 truck so that we could get back into some of the harder to reach places.

Many changes were taking place for me not to mention that after 4 years I finally was able to retrieve my gear and things out of storage. Now I am at a relaxation point I can enjoy the snow capped mountains around me while bbqing on the grill. Friends can come over plan paranormal trips with me right here in our new studio.

I held two meet ups within one week and people actually came on out to hear what I had to say. Some even signed up under our team to help with some camp outs and explorations. Daily sends are now being once again sent out as my computer was down for the past year hence the lack of sends and updates. But to remedy the situation I now have a new computer system designed to handle massive amounts of sends.....and to finally update our site regularly like years ago.

So many good things are happening for us so I decided to choose two locations that I been checking into the last few weeks. Both locations have some rather interesting history not to mention they would serve off something to build upon as it would be not only our first investigation in a couple months but the first series of investigations in the area.

For those reading this I do not live to far from Virginia City one of the most in tact ghost towns in the country. Not only in tact but it still has that 1800's charm to it as well. Prior to the investigation we met at Jack n The Box. I must say they have some bomb ass Oreo cookie milk shakes. Some folks showed up their was a few who just didn't period.

I live in an area that the weather changes daily yesterday it was 70 degrees two days prior to that it was blizzarding all night long. Being up in the mountains can deter your explorations at anytime. Roads are closed.....their are avalanche areas....hell not to far from me this one town had over 5 feet of snow. I didn't know what to expect but I did know that it was windy and the temperature did drop down to freezing Saturday March 26th of 20111.

We would visit two locations the forgotten cemetery called Empire and the grounds of the old Ormsby County Poor Farm. They were good picks since I wanted to choose beginner courses for our new team members. Although do not get me wrong in less then two weeks were visiting a massive abandoned factory so things are and will be taking off.

I can tell you as much as I know right now and that is were going to be visiting locations like Yosemite, Bodie, San Fran, Redwoods, Virginia City just to name a few places we plan on exploring. With all the new upgrades we made to our paranormal group I expect to do very well the next few years with uncovering mysteries, legends and the strange.

After our meet Saturday evening I would take the road and we would head on off to Empire Cemetery.

Empire Cemetery

I parked the truck up the dirt road which was almost steep enough to tip us. The cemetery sits overgrown on a hill. During the day you can see mountains on every side of you. Its a very scenic place overlooking the river and many trees.

The cemetery had been forgotten but it also had many of the founding fathers of Carson City and Empire here. Most of the graves we found dated back to the mid 1800's.

I was excited as we just ordered new gear since were in a new location and bringing a whole new journey. Tammy took EMF measurements and it spiked about 4 times. Two of the times it spiked was when out loud we read a name on a grave.

I found it odd to get EMF here their are no power lines near by its just a cemetery overgrown on a hill. Many of the graves were weathered some were crumbling. Their were allot of babies buried here and children.

I had gotten the impression that most of the open areas had more graves but perhaps they were unmarked burials. I did not take temp readouts as the wind was blowing hard core. I had to take my EVPs behind one the graves.

Most of the graves here at least the more wealthier interments had wrought iron fencing around their stones. While some had no stone and just wrought iron around a rectangle of soil. I did see two newer graves but most of the fake flowers were falling apart.

The cemetery is fenced off their isn't even an entrance gate into the place or even a sign. I enjoyed investigating here because at night you can view all of Carson City below while photographing ghost. It was memorable.

I did happen to hear movement and thought I seen a shadow running from my view. I feel and still feel that this place may be a major haunted cemetery in the region. Everyone had split up and looked around. We did not stay here no more then a half hour as it was bone chilling cold. One of the downfalls of moving out of Vegas or FL is that now we will deal with subzero freezing temperatures up in the high sierras.

The cemetery was dark no moon out either it was like being out on a crisp autumn night. We had to hike back to the truck although it wasn't far the hill down is pretty steep. I didn't feel to much here but I will say it was odd when Tammy read a little girls name and all of sudden the equipment spiked. We may return sometime later this year to set up a second series of test and readings. Empire Cemetery will always be special in the fact that this was our first investigation in our new location.

Surprisingly from what I learned also is not many locals know about this forgotten cemetery. Many of the graves are engraved beautiful like for example one of the stones has a mans face sculpted into it. Its very old and it seems like the activity here might be a little higher due to the fact that it doesn't get to many visitors.

We would head on up to our next location which was The Ormsby County Poor Farm or at least what was left of it.

Ormsby County Poor Farm

This investigation would be split up into two parts. The first part would be the park area the other area would take place across the creek near the fairgrounds.

When I learned the history about the land that it was a poor farm, orphanage site and even at one time a nursing home I thought hmmmm. There is allot of history to the land and although not much remains today these grounds date back to over a century ago.

Not only that but some of Carson Cities oldest creepiest trees grow here as the creek provides water which flourishing life.

Unlike some locations we visit this place was quiet and silent. Even on a Saturday night you are lucky to see even one soul out and about. You will see cops driving around looking as if they are bored with nothing to do.

I pulled into the park and up to an old garage probably from back in the day. The park was terribly flooded from the melting snow. Their was also allot of mud its good I had my boots on because they are water proof.

We would spend some of the night walking along the creek bed which was overgrown. We also checked out some of these trees which the one would need about 6 to 8 people to hold hands to even come close to matching its circumference.

There was a playground and a street cleaner hanging out in front of it. I heard music playing so someone was chilling out who knows maybe even sparking one up.

We explored the shelter area and visited a few wells sites. My main objective was to locate the hidden cemetery that sits on the grounds by the creek.

I could not take evps here although I would try when the wind calmed down. I guess the park was going through some sort of restoration. Some trees were cut down.....their was piles of construction materials around and the only lights within the park were the dome shelter area which kept us out of the elements for awhile.

I believe we had one EMF reading in the older part of the park but our night was far from done. I had to figure a way to cross the creek to get to the cemetery.

We actually had to park at the casino and hike over a bridge then follow the creek on up. I found a pond and of course we wandered the fairgrounds. Their were areas where the water from the creek was rushing on in from drainage tubes to manmade concrete washes.

This creek was full of logs....trees and brush growing around it. I could not get even in to close although we did find a dirt road that actually crossed over it. We would head back into the woods where we would find the hidden cemetery which had a couple members of the Ormsby County Poor Farm.

Their was iron bars surrounding two grave sites under a tree. Their was also a couple grills and picnic benches back here. We sat up on the bench for awhile in the dark listening to the sound of rushing water.

As we sat by the graves at the bench we had EMF spikes on a couple occasions which came all within minutes of eachother. Then it went dead no readings or anything. I felt something back here in the woods. It reminded me of my days exploring Glen Falls NY as we use to hike back by the creek looking for old pioneer ghost who lived off the creek. This place was much similar feel wise and look wise.

Their was a few natural paths in the woods behind the cemetery that loop around the creek its a nice little area. But it also holds a deeper perhaps darker history. I cant pinpoint it but I can go to 100 locations never feeling a single thing. But this location paranoid the hell out of me. I felt as if the unseen was all around us watching us through the brush.

We did wander around the fair grounds my camera was acting up so I saved it. Not sure what the deal is but its a new cam so I am still trying to figure out all the features.

We hiked out of here a different way which was along the creek and some irrigation area. It was pretty chilly out so I couldn't wait just to get home. We stopped at the store got a couple candy bars then went home to chill.

All in all both investigations were pretty successful in the fact that we were able to get a few EMF readings in certain locations. Considering it was my first investigation in this area it was rather peaceful. We didn't have to deal with anyone there wasn't even a car out.

Ill be returning to both locations to do a follow up report. I am looking forward to doing some indoor places soon as we now have motion detectors and evp enhancer's something we really couldn't set up at the poor farm or cemetery.

I did notice that their was a map of the poor farm in the gazebo. Basically showing the changes being made or that have been made to the grounds. It appears they are getting rid of most of the old and putting up some new things.

There was one area in the woods near the creek I actually found part of a foundation at. So their are little signs that show that at one time before it became a park that something of a pioneer nature once sat back near the tree line where the swift creek waters flow.

I bet their are allow of artifacts hidden underneath the soil here. This place had a pretty eerie feelings not much activity but if you go into the woods here at night and sit down by the graves you will feel as if something is out of place. Considering it was a couple months of offtime for me getting situated in my new place it didn't take long to get that ghostbusting fever lol. It was a fun time for everybody and all we can do now is study the evidence collected.

We appreciate those who support us as this is our 10 year anniversary so do all you can get involved. We will continue investigations every two weeks, perform 1 to 2 radio shows a month and will have every month a paranormal meet up. We strongly encourage others to join our journey towards the truth as we explore the unknown along the Sierra Nevada's.
Peace,
