War Eagle Mine
 
The breeze felt really good as we approached a mountain range that contains 3 to 5 major mines. These mines are so large that some people have gone in and their bodies were never retrieved. The truth is that many have died in these mines and just to get a taste of the area was a real treat. They are an explorers dream and allot of people traverse into them. The mines in this area are the real deal ladders. mine cart tracks, shafts, wood beams and machinery left over from the past.
 
I was not sure the car would make it back here the road was rugged...very narrow.....and I told Tammy when it gets really bad will park and hike on in. I did not have any idea which mines were what at the time I just seen many and picked one till we return to this location to explore it further. I had seen roads going off to different mountains miles away. I had an idea but as planned we started off with the War Eagle Mine.
 
If I do not leave the area I have plans to come back to this mine and others to explore some more. But we wanted to at least for now bring our viewers a true mine that sits up on the mountain just above the town of Old Tecopa and Noonday.
 
Tammy and I went for about a mile to two miles when we came across a major hole in the road. Their was no way the car would make it without bottoming out. So we grabbed our gear and backpacks hiking on in. I also noticed where we parked at I found a burial marker or rather an old wood cross lodged in a pile of small stones.
 
As we followed the old mining road we found a section of road collapsed down into some canyon. Their was no way a car would get past that point. I was okay with hiking as I had a nice view of the mine....debris pile....and chutes within a grasp of a mile not even.
 
As we approached the base of the mountain we found a few foundations and old mining equipment scattered all over. The climb was real steep but basically we had to get around the debris pile.....and to the main entrance.
 
The view was beautiful below just a giant basin of desert...hills....the sun wasn't so bright either it was starting to go down. We had no plans on being up here at night only because the road was very treacherous to get out of here.
 
We climbed on up to the giant wood chutes....I seen old mine cart tracks above it....and this mountain had at least 6 other entrances into this mine. The mine had a few levels going up and a few levels going down. We would not have time to get to the other entrances so again a second exploration might be in the works with one of my buddies who explores historic mines.
 
As we entered the main entrance the light from the entrance dimmed till we went so deep in you couldn't see it anymore. This was the oldest part of the mine the main entrance. We came up on an old furnace of sorts...and just to our right in another tunnel we found a room with giant wheels and cogs.
 
As we continued on the main tunnel on in we came across our first shaft. It was boarded up somewhat and in between the boards I could see a ladder going down at a steep angle. The ladder looked like it went into another tunnel or level below us but it was dark so it may have dropped off into another shaft. These shafts in these mines are deadly so its best to stay away.
 
I thought this mine would be allot more eerie but I didn't even sense a hint of paranormal activity here. Although it was a dark dismal place Tammy and I conquered the mine fairly quick. We walked along the edge of the shaft to the very end of the tunnel where it ended in at a TNT room with the door torn on off.
 
To our left was a tunnel which I thought would lead to other locations within the mine and all it did was went in a giant circle back around to the main tunnel by the shaft. We slowly made our way out I showed Tammy a rats nest all snug between a few wood beams near one of the walls. We did not see any rodents but then again it was still daytime.
 
I noticed that the War Eagle Mine was less abused then the Potosi one we went to weeks ago. I am not sure why that is considering its not to hard to get out to the War Eagle Mine. I had to be careful as the tunnel at one point was very low to a point where anybody could easily hit there heads.
 
When we arrived outside we cut to our rights where we found this giant concrete foundation with some little stone structure with a hole in the top. Tammy and I were looking up at the mountain as we found various entrances into the War Eagle.
 
We cut across this rocky wash and up to another ridge then hiked back down to the old mining road. As we made our way back to the car I took a different road back which drove us right through Noonday. In my mirror I could see the other mines behind me nestled back along the mountain range. I am excited to go back here again to explore more of the tunnels. Rumor has it their are miles worth of tunnels within the mountain range we were really glad to have gotten into one of them it was a nice exploration and much remains to be seen of the War Eagle Mine.
 
Tammy and I noticed the sun was going down and we were ready to head on out of the Tecopa Mining District. I knew how harsh this place is at night no light....dirt roads that go off to nowhere....shafts and mines all over so we decided to drive to our next location which would be out in the town of Shoshone.
 
I made a couple stops on the mining road to check out some foundations and debris but nothing felt better then the cool breeze as I drove off into the sunset.

This anomaly is very odd and honestly I really have no explanation of what it is. I had entered the mine with Tammy as she was following close behind me. Tammy then proceeded to take a photo behind us of the entrance accidentally. I believe this due to the fact that half of the entrance was cut off so therefore I speculate she was playing with her camera settings for our dark journey within. It could be a trick of the light but just know that upon entering this mine their was nothing at all surrounding the mines entrance. As a matter in fact you can see proof of this in the photo to the left. Then after reviewing the photo to the left click the one to the right to see the shadowy anomaly. I guess this is why they call it paranormal eh? If it is paranormal it is possible that accidentally we caught some sort of shadow figure following us into the mine.

An anomaly that gives off a hue could be dust hard to say but if you notice it is not spherical at all.
