I apologize for the late report but with me having an out of town visitor, then attending a birthday party with my sons, and work I have had little time to do any sends. Then a few days ago I went to the beach all day fishing over by the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and that was tons of fun. I do hope that things this week will get back on track with investigations every Saturday etc etc... Their probably will be about 100 articles today sent out to make up for the two days of no sends.
Saturday was a nice little investigation as we visited some small towns on the edge of Ocala Forest. We tried to mix it up a little and investigated the Seville Cemetery, Palmetto Church, and Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Cemetery. It was a night of oddities not alot of activity or spectacular ghost photos but these are
definitely places we can check out again. We also had a new investigator and he did quite well so it was nice to see that our team numbers keep on increasing each month.
It was our first warm night in awhile of investigating so it was real nice to get on out after taking last weekend off for the party and so our investigation begins here.
Seville Cemetery
Driving to this place was probably more of a chiller then walking around in it. The town is one of these places that you could blink an eye and miss. The road we drove on was like a ghost town of churches. Their were a few rusty shacks, trailers etc it had one of those pioneer looks to it. Besides the fact that ferneries were abundant in the area.
We started off in the oldest section and right away the one thing we noticed is that the cemetery was very dark. I tripped over a stone sort of when walking so yeah we had to be real careful. Since my light ran out the first few hundred feet we were walking blindly around.
Some of the stones were tilted but nonetheless in very good shape for an 1800s cemetery. We walked all the way towards the back and could see a glowing cross which was illuminated. The cemetery had an eerie feeling.
Towards the back was a lake and dirt road. I took the team along the dirt road and to our right was woods with patches of land containing graves. We heard what sounded like little girls nearby we were pretty
divided on it but it came from the lake itself as if someone was on a boat in the middle of the lake.
We walked down the dirt road for a ways and seen a little dirt road to our right. We went down it which led us to a mattress, chairs, and lots of garbage. You could tell where the locals go for their parties. It was not a nice spot honestly and I am sure bad things at one time have occurred here.
I did not like it back here it was bone chilling cold. Also as we walked down the road I did here sounds of us being followed. I do not know if it was ghostly but a few times we heard branches snap behind us and not scurrying but as if something was following watching.
Their was a strange cold to this area I could not even feel my hands as we entered this little section surrounded by woods and gravestones. Their were some upper burials here and off in the distance Christmas lights and a Christmas Tree yeah I know quite odd. But someone had decorated a family plot with all kinds of Christmas things and the lights were blinking. It felt odd and again without much light we were pretty blind here. But the cemetery seems odd especially to have a small hidden section off in the woods like this.
We started to head back and Lee mentioned feeling a darkness about this place. Not evil but just as something perhaps might be in a slumber or hiding watching. It was the type of darkness where the air got thicker as we headed back to the graves. But it was also a different type of darkness as we got closer we could not see it was if something was hiding in the dark. A few times I put my hand in front of my face an could not see it.
But the only time we felt such darkness is when we were heading along the lake dirt road back towards the main section of the cemetery. But the feelings near the cemetery were
definitely different then as going away from it. So that is our take on it was that a darkness looms around this place. As we walked towards the cemetery on the dirt road we heard what sounded like the moaning of a man it was odd but it was loud and we all heard it.
We finished off our investigation checking out the newer section only eventually to have a car enter the graveyard with us. We all hide behind trees and bushes as the person drove around slowly only to stop just outside the graveyard. So
definitely the locals were curious but we did finish the investigation as I walked over to the
laminated cross.
My conclusion is that much more remains to be seen here I mean we heard the movement, ghostly voices, and felt the energies here. I do think despite as peaceful as this place is sitting in the woods and all that lots of ghost haunt this cemetery. We then headed on off to the Palmetto Church.
