Our camp sits back between granite rock formations. It is very cozy with great views of Round Top Peak and The Elephants Back which I show you in this video. Camping at Woods Lake is very pricey is it worth camping here YES. But primitive camping is always allot more funner. My camp site resides right below The Lost Cabin Mining Camp which I feel may be haunted.	It is our first night of camping life is good I just made steak over the flame and now I give you a tour of what night camp is like for us. I of course plan on night hiking it always happens and when it does I take it as a blessing in Bigfoot research. I heard later at night something at our campsite both nights including hearing what sounded like tree banging. Something Sasquatch does to communicate with its other kin!

Woods Creek flows from Round Top Lake into Woods Lake. This creek is home to a couple mines and claims. Their is no doubt that gold and silver exist or get carried along this mineral rich creek. We were working our way to the Lost Cabin Mine its not much further but it is high up in the cliffs along woods lake.	We made it to the Lost Cabin Mine this area is full of granite rock formations and heavy woods. It is hard to believe their is a mine here in the middle of the wilderness. My goal would be to find any remnants of the camp just explore the woods for historical purposes ONLY!

This foundation is one of four the second one is straight up ahead on the small granite hill. You can see its wood debris pile while this foundation is made of stone, wood and sheet metal. The miners did not have a large living space just a place to sleep and keep out of the elements of the high sierras.	There were two major veins here this is all that remains of the pulley system. This would bring the miners down into the shaft so they could mine, Pyrite and Quartz were the main minerals found at this site. However in between gold and silver would be found here. I made a mistake on this trip thought everything was from the 1850s but later did more research to find out that the mining camp started here in the 1930's.

This is the fourth cabin we found or whats left of it. Again a small living space just a matter of feet from the mines main shaft which today is grated. The foundations were made by finding local rocks and fitting them together. Then a wood frame would be built followed with a sheet metal tin to aluminum roofing.	Its amazing how when hiking you can cross various boundaries of the high sierras. We went from the Eldorado National Forest to entering the Mokelumne Wilderness. Unfortunately all the beauty of the landscape lacks it is autumn. This meant no green meadows, colorful flowers and butterflies. Even though the colors are gone it is very scenic as the wilderness is full of many high peaks.

Just another 1,200' and you will see the sisters of Round Top Peak. You will also see to the left Round Top Peak which resides I believe at 10,461' not the tallest of mountains but what does not make up for height makes up for in how massive this mountain is. It literally begins at the bottom of woods lake. Snow has fallen here winter comes early in the high sierras.	The water at Round Top Lake is crystal clear when the snow melts up on the cliffs it fills Round Top Peak with fresh pure water. The lake is not very high I estimate maybe 5 to 6' in the very middle if that. You can see the water is very blue this lake resides very high in the sierras. It was worth the 2.5 hike to get here and the 1,200' elevation gain!

We are moving on we would hike the shore to look for tracks sadly it turned into a disappointment. The shoreline is full of finer rocks with brush along the sand line. So no way to track Bigfoot at this location. The shoreline however is picturesque you get to hike along Round Peaks sisters!	Its amazing how monumental the views become when you start coming close to 10k. From here I could see views of Red Peak all the way down to where the Devil's Ladder meets Red Lake. Red lake is a place I photographed a UFO at and found some strange large tracks there. What I thought was large a few years ago is just a small part of all that is out in front of me. This video is to share with you this pretty view I took my time at this vista point!

The hike down into this canyon at times is rather steep. The lake itself sits in a pocket just to the left of that is the massive Summit City Canyon. This would kill my knee 1,200' elevation loss which we just climbed to Round Top Lake only to descend. The canyon is full of berry bushes however due to autumn all that is left are for insects and bear to feed on what is left.	This is a brief look at the massive canyon which takes you to an old ghost town called Summit City. I plan on visiting eventually the ghost town site its a really secluded location. As you can tell we are approaching the lake as we leave the canyon to our backs.

Most people set up camp here we would only be able to enjoy these pristine shores for about an hour before we would have to head back to our own. The lake is surrounded by two major volcanic peaks as you get to see in this video. Anything could be back here and you would never know it especially up in the very hard to reach locations.	The ascension would take us through berry bushes by the thousands. I also found bear stool on the trail in the canyon. Which means we were just a matter of an hour or two away from maybe running into a black bear. Its fairly secluded country the only way you see canyons such as these are on foot!

The sun is going behind the mountains to my west and we are in a race for time to reach the summit. From where I am standing to Round Top Peak is 1,200' I knew that I would be coming back to camp in the dark I was prepared for anything. My main goal is to reach the saddle so I can see on one side the Mokelumne Wilderness while the other side reveals the Eldorado National Forest. Both are equally beautiful and offbeat which is why they make good Bigfoot stomping grounds.	Rascal and I were about 600' to the top when we encounter a wall of wind. They would only increase and I was almost jogging to the top. The views were a jewel as we were hitting almost 10k here. Nightfall was setting in quick this area does not get allot of sunlight that is why is stays under snow almost the entire year.

I reached 10k and give you the scenic video prior to sundown. Amazingly I could see Lake Tahoe 15 miles away. Also you could see Round Top and Red lakes below the summit. I was not able to film for very long the winds were reaching 60mph gust and a wind storm was coming in. I would have to get to a lower altitude where it was warmer and less windy.	This is my nightfall video I had just came down near the summit and was slowly heading towards the Eldorado National Forest. The winds are still whipping this would be a long 2.5 mile hike back to camp. During my hike I heard a huge branch snap on the ground, captured an EVP at the Lost Cabin Mine at night and some vocalizations. Our hike back in the dark was intense the moon was not out thus staying on the trail at times was tedious to find.

The Woods Lake area is no surprise to Bigfoot activity over the years. The lake sits at about 8,200' surrounded by granite cliffs and rock formations. Throughout the woods their are various wood cabins that you can rent and some may provide summer homes. The shoreline is both rocky and sandy thus we would head on off to make our way down the lake trail.	This Corral represents cattle herding that took place here over a century ago. It would be the final cut to our Round Top Peak Expedition. In the final cut I talk about the expedition you can see the leaves are yellowing. I also talk about the future what we have planned in October which is Apple Hill and a few other really great locations.
