Old Ocklawaha Bridge Cemetery

Before visiting this cemetery we were in search of a haunted house which literally we could not find. We found a lot of trailers in the woods but no house so after careful searching we decided to move onto the Old Ocklawaha Bridge Cemetery which is very easy to pass by when its dark out.

The cemetery was very hard to see as we approached the gates but it also sat in the middle of the forest so it was very secluded and at first for me was very overwhelming. Oddly enough I had a very bad stomach ache and headache when I walked around this cemetery it was like instant that it hit me.

We walked around for a little bit found a confederate soldiers stone and then two areas that had this odd rod iron fencing surrounding a stone. Many of the stones were very old and what we noticed is there was a lot of youths buried here particularly teens throughout the cemetery. There was also many sand mounds in various areas which we could not find an explanation for.

Many of the stones were small limestone blocks worn with no names in scripted on them and some of the stones were just so weathered or tilted you could not read who was buried there. Only one light came from the woods from some house that was it so the cemetery  darkness seemed to really enhance the imaginations.

We walked around there was a building on site with benches inside to sit down on it I felt a strong presence here just watching me from inside. I took a quick peak inside then caught up to Lee as we walked on the back side of the cemetery.

Both of us on occasion could here movement within the cemetery itself they sound like footsteps running here an there perhaps ghostly more in nature then animal sounding. But something was moving around the cemetery and in the back was also movement so Lee and I took it another step and got close to this movement.

We we stood still in the dark we heard alot of movement and I shined by light over the fence and there was like many sets of glowing eyes looking at us at first Lee thought they were deer then realized they were a bunch of cows just staring at us. I reached my hand over the fence to try and call them over they just all stared at me like what a weirdo lol it was just so funny looking at the expressions on these cows faces. They probably thought we were aliens or something.

We left the cows and decided to head back into the middle of the cemetery and do some more investigating. At this point the cemetery went from very warm to very cold after we read a few graves which happened to be that of teenage boys. I mean you would have to be there to understand how it felt because last night was a very warm starry night out then to hit such a cold like that just was amazing but we felt it was perhaps one of the teenage boys buried here. The cemetery had a very hospitable feeling.

We left the cemetery started to head back to the vehicle when a pick up drove by with somebody in back of it I am sure we scared them but we just stood there on the side of the road looking like zombies. Then we headed on off to our next location which is The Fort King Burial Grounds.
