Date: 7/27/2003 6:43:28 AM Eastern Daylight Time From: AngelOfThyNight@aol.com To: ParanormalBuffalo@yahoogroups.com , paranormalghostsociety@yahoogroups.com Mt Hope Cemetery I have been wanting to go to Mt Hope for a long time and it was one of my dreams to investigation this cemetery with over 350,000 tombstones. Getting into this cemetery is alot harder then you would think since rod iron surrounds it. We did pass a building inside the cemetery that had its lights on the basement. Supposingly there is a tunnel under this cemetery that you can go into from one of these buildings I did not find it but they say it comes out of one of the Crypts. We were not successful finding them but we did find other things here. Such as the chapel, an area for soldiers, and of course the stone of Susan B Anthony now talk about luck. The cemetery we found very hard to hike in since the hills were so steep in some cases we had to climb on our hands and knees. There was many woods and roads so anybody could easily get lost. I did notice that I did not feel alone there some areas were nicer then others but some of the areas with high weeds or alot of trees where it led to another area of cemetery made it much more eerie. One thing that stunned me is how beautiful some stones were such as 50 foot high monuments, giant angel statues, large crypts, and other interesting monuments like Celtic crosses. We did not have alot of ghostly activity although I thought I seen an orb or 2 here and well as the EMF detector went off on 3 occasions at least and the one time it went off you could just feel as if something was passing through you. We did make it to the top of Mt Hope that in itself was quite a feat and then we started working our way down I mean in just a short time we covered the north end and now we were almost on the south end which is roughly a mile across. We were walking trying to record some EVP when upon talking to a spirit asking it's name somewhere on the other side of a small hill came a scream not one but 2 of them it sounded very chilling and it was close. We did make our way make to the main entrance slowing going down some steep hills and taking some maze like roads and we left pretty happy of our conquest of this large place. It is rumored by many that the night Vampyres hunt in this cemetery and go into the tunnels to feed, party, and await people who walk alone at night. Luckily we were able to get in get some photos safely and get out with out any problems.
