Much like the Meiss Ranch this historical site resides up near Big Meadow in the Luther Pass. The meadows provided the livestock were great places for cattle to graze while nearby creeks could provide irrigation for crops and fish as a source of food. Not much remains but in this clip I take you on a tour of the property and as you can see its very scenic 360 degrees.	After leaving the Luther Ranch we decided it was time to take the Tahoe Rim trail which takes you up to a place called Big Meadow. For Nov. there is plenty of snow and ice on the trek so you ave to watch your step as its a steep ascension to the top. This area can be considered as part of the Lake Tahoe National Forest since only a few miles away the lake resides below and behind us.

This is Big Meadow which contains a tributary of the Truckee River thus its stream is flourishing with rainbow trout. Normally the meadow is green and full of wild flowers with butterflies everywhere but not in November. We would have to journey across Big Meadow to get to a smaller trail in the woods which would take us to Lake Dardanelles. As you can see standing in the center of the meadow really gives us great scenic views of the snow capped mountains nearby.	While hiking towards Round Lake we came across these wooden beams that are being used as steps to ascend through a small area where the woods are really thick. I called them the stairway to heaven because it certainly made the hike allot easier compared to trying to traverse the wet ice earlier on the hike.

There are three other streams similar to this one all of them you have to cross by leaping from one rock to the next unless you do not mind getting your feet wet. In the summer I just get my feet wet but this time of year the water is extremely cold. Towards the end of the video after we pull away from the creek I film these awesome cliffs the same ones that overshadow a place called Round Lake where we visited in 2013.	The narrow path up to Lake Dardanelles contains some of the oldest trees in the region. While some of them still stand you can see others have fallen down and are dying. Sometimes when lightening strikes or the tree gets diseased or not enough water it dies. So for quite a long time we come across massive trees laying on there sides along our journey like the ones you see in this video. They call this region Lake Valley because it has a variety of fairly good sized lakes but all of them require pure hiking and stamina to get too.

As we make our way out of forest we come out of it with a view like no other "Lake Dardanelles" just prior to sunset. This is where we would break and then I would do a study to find any strange tracks. Most of the lakes shores are made of rocky granite however just below an ancient volcano is a very soft shoreline which as I am filming this also devising a way to get over there. This lake was so pristine with a beautiful scenic backdrop of snowy cliffs off in the distance.	To get to the shoreline below the volcanic peak I would have to climb through brush and go around an area where it grew close to the shoreline. I ended up having my foot get tangled in a tree root thus I fell halfway while filming this. When I came out of the woods which reminded me of a thick overgrown jungle I came across a very small barefoot impression in the icy snow? It could have been made by anything a very very young Bigfoot or ghostly child but I do not think it was made by humans as it was the only one like this I found. Very strange but it just goes to show you that it was worth getting tangled in some trees to get to this hard to get area of the lake. Sorry my voice was garbled and the camera went out of focus it seemed to have caused the camera to not be operable to its fullest capacity and so is the life of a Bigfoot chaser!

This is another odd track I find about 21' from the barefoot impression only this one has kind of been disfigured due to the snow melting. The sun was going down so I quickly after filming the second impression took back towards the woods. You can see to the left of the video near the shore line that impassable brush that I would have to work my way around. That is when Jarrod decided to prank me and act like a mini-squatch coming at me out of nowhere lol. This is where we end up packing it up after I tell Tammy about what I found and get ready to head off into the night as the moon came out. With the sun behind the western mountains and the heavy foliage darkness falls within minutes of me turning off my cam.	These are two segments I filmed at night so your not going to see anything the pitch darkness of the night. We had a long ways to go particularly almost four miles to the truck with just enough light to sustain ourselves through the woods. The first half of the film was taken in the Tahoe Forest the second up at Big Meadow. I could see the stars but can you? The biggest challenge that came with the night hike is having to cross three creeks leaping from rock to rock without falling into the creeks themselves.
