My goal was to hike to this mountain although it seemed miles away it was just a few miles hike to a white mountain will steps built into it. Their was a lonely tree out in the meadow the sun was falling behind the mountains. I believe this area was in a few westerns and well I set out to find some Aztec caves unfortunately I never found them nothing to exciting just a few small caverns once said to hold treasure and well they found an alter as well as ancient bones here.

I knew I took the wrong road but I had definitely the right mountain just not enough time to circle it in search of them. I got a bit ahead of everybody so I climbed these stone steps it was amazing with sand blowing off them and steep.

I found a rock formation so I set up camp here the kids caught up as we traversed through a field of odd brush. My sons sat against the formation and these little chipmunk like animals ran from the top of the formation all the way down just inches from there heads it was funny.

We had sat half way up the mountain almost which overlooked the farm....valley...and mountains. This was it folks this is what the wildwest is about this is what I sought out to do when leaving FL is to bring you guys locations like these that can keep the mind wandering forever.

I toked one at Escalante I had to celebrate it felt great to drink some power aid...sit back and admire the monument. It was a private area its not like Zion you wont pass people hiking here your out their in the wild west.

On our way back it was dark I promised everybody a quick route to the car so we cut across a meadow and made it to the road passing the farmstead. It is much more eerie at night the kids didn't like it and that's not normal they love eerie locations but they told me the kids bike against the stump was enough for them.

On our way out of here we had more stops which was the Mount Carmel Cemetery & Stone Church. Its a site you just have to see for yourself afterall this area was a pioneer type of town and so I wanted to do my own little investigation. I drove off and away leaving the caves behind. I sure wish I found them but without funding I just cannot afford a decent GPS which gives me coordinates to such locations so if we do not find them its probably because we were close just not close enough.




This vertibrae seems to be the only we found in the area out near the meadow which fronts white rock. The farmstead at one time more then like had cattle they raised and other animals. We seen plenty of fencing to prove this fact. The animal could be in relation to the old farmstead or maybe their is something predatorial surrounding the Escalante area. What is there not to like about this area you have wild life around you, tales of treasure, beautiful scenery and even gunsmoke. Does this mean anything paranormal no but do we find bones on investigations? Most definitely!
