Christmas Park

We headed on over the causeway and parked near Old Fort Park another place we investigated last year ago. There was three sheriff cars parked on the street all with sheriffs in them.

We crossed the street and found the small park. It was no bigger then one hundred feet but its a focal point for energy since its surrounded by downtown New Smyrna another area similar to Flagler Ave.

We walked around the park their were no signs, nothing that would symbolize Christmas, or anything to distinct. I walked up to a brick stage in the park. There were a few benches here, a bulletin board with town events, and an old clock. We even seen a Siamese cat which ran from me when I tried to get its photo.

The old street lamps were moved onto concrete podiums and what stood out much was one of the oldest largest trees I have ever seen in the area. It seemed to be an old giant oak that branched out really thick. It was pretty eerie and sort of sat in part of the parking lot.

Ariel and also had another part to investigate in this section. That was the Christmas Santa Shop. Sad to say we could not find it that is how the park got its name and well it was nowhere to be found.

I did not get to much at the park but the area we were at was surrounded by many old buildings and well the sheriffs were watching us so it was time to call it a night. Perhaps we can do a second more thorough investigation surrounding the shops surrounding this small downtown park.

In conclusion to our report it turned out to be a nice Easter Weekend Investigation. We really did not get a lot of photos but like Ariel said it was a very relaxing and well put together adventure. There is a lot of history to the New Smyrna area and we hope to do plan on much more in depth investigating in the future here.
