Bullfrog
To get here was pretty tricky we had to take a few rough roads in the
middle of nowhere. Unlike Ryholite nothing really remains behind but a
cemetery, stone foundation and rumors of other foundations off into the
desert.
Christi and I reached this rusted iron gate which said beware rattle snake
breeding area. She was not sure about entering but I said what the hell
with the lights I had I could light the place up like daylight.
We walked on up to this stone foundation which looked like part of a
fireplace and it had a copper plaque on it. It appeared that all that
really remained is this foundation and the cemetery surrounding it.
We were on the edge of death valley and things looked pretty bad in this
cemetery. Many dead trees were laying on graves, some of the stones were
unmarked, the wooden epitaphs were broken in half or cracked, some graves
were covered in tumble weeds and this cemetery just was as bad as it gets.
We were out in the middle of the mountains and desert so it was pretty
intense being in the middle of nowhere. I had left the car running and
lights on to give us some direction since we had to hike on into this
place pretty far.
There was not a lot of ghost activity here we had a few cold spots I took
an EMF reading that was about it. I felt at ease here unlike Rhyolite. At
one time this was hard to believe it was a bustling town and now nothing
hardly remains.
We walked around the thick brush for awhile did not see any snakes took
our photos then headed for home. All in all my trip out here was well
worthwhile. Like the 600 ghost towns located in Nevada very few signs
remain behind whether they are cemeteries, mines, our foundations I feel
there is more to the area.
