Bluffton Point

This area is one of the 3 tracts that is roughly 20,000 acres almost so the area is fairly large. Jason and I just got done crossing the St. Johns River and found the secluded dirt road which seemed to go on for a few miles in the middle of nowhere.

The road was extremely bumpy in some areas and I was excited to test out my truck to see what it could do so I was going real fast then whipping around corners real fast lol. It is really nice to also have 4 wheel drive when it comes to such places so I felt pretty secure driving deep back here.

When we were driving deeper in the woods my radar detector went off. This really bothered me a lot cause it was reading pulse which means that somebody or something had radar directed on us within a VERY close range. When I say close I mean within a couple hundred feet.

Everytime It rang on pulse I stopped the car just to see if anybody was following us down the road. The woods were to thick for anybody to be parked in it was pretty much a straight shot dirt road. After a few miles I was starting to get annoyed cause my detector rang on pulse at least 5 to 6 different times. Then it rang on a k-9 which means that there is radar within a few hundred feet which is basically as strong as pulse. Nonetheless at one point we got a k-5 in the woods but then it jumped back up to a k-9 or pulse again.

So I started to assess that A. There was some sort of supernatural interference in this area B. Somebody or something was watching us perhaps since its government land they have something underground here or hidden in the woods or C. A cop was following us maybe without having its head lights on.

At the end of the dirt road we came across another dirt road to our left and a sign saying Bluffton point straight ahead. We parked and noticed a truck and trailer parked behind some trees. So at first we neglected this area and went out to our right which was a peninsula. We took the path for a few hundred feet.

To our surprise we found the giant wall made out of rocks to our left which was 3 to 4 feet high. Apparently this was the site the Indians once had a village at and they would grow their crops here. The wall was made to keep the water from flooding the crops so part of this wall still stood and we noticed from our observation that it went around the peninsula and the shore line for quite a ways up the St. Johns.

It was a pretty dismal area there were a few picnic benches and dead trees growing out of the water. We were not to far from the Lake George tributary. We did see a lot of gators swimming around the area staring at us. We sat at a picnic bench for awhile and I looked all the way down the St. Johns. The woods went on for miles and it was a pretty wide section of the river probably a mile across so anything could be hiding out here ghost, bigfoot, aliens, cryptids etc.

Jason and I climbed on the wall I have quite a few photos of it. Basically it looks like any Jetty you see out near the ocean but instead this is on the river made out of shell rock or anotherwards coquina. But to actually be walking around the site of a native American Indian village was truly amazing. There was a lot of energy here and cold spots.

After investigating the wall we headed back to the car in search of the Bluffton Trailhead. After circling around in the truck it illuminated a truck, trailer, and tent all at the entrance to the trail. So we re parked the truck and started to pass through this persons camp quietly.  I am sure that if anybody in that tent was awake they were probably very scared hearing us coming through with twigs snapping and all lol.

We made it past the camp and onto the trail head where a brief history described the area and of course I read that at one time it was the site of a plantation to so of course now what we had here was a native American ancient site and plantation site combined into one.

We took the trail which was probably more of an old wagon trail in the woods. We started off hiking in the tropical fauna then it changed to a pine forest. The trail was extremely overgrown and unfriendly in some areas. I did not like it here at all I felt watched and we both felt followed the deeper we went in.

The trail we were on led us threw quite a few different ecosystems some areas were covered with wood board walks while other areas the trail was so poor we almost got lost. We did come across an open prairie with a lot of tall grass and some very thin trees that went a hundred feet up. We spent a lot of time hiking in this open area the grass was so high that it covered most of the trail.

Eventually we came back into the woods that is when we heard something very large coming towards us. It was less then 50 feet away walking. It was pretty big so it pretty much narrows it down to a black bear or bigfoot himself. The area became very quiet as we shined our spotlights off to the left. Something big was moving behind a few fallen trees.

It was very smart because when we put my 10 million candlelight power light on it the movement stopped then as we hiked it started to follow us from behind. Eventually for the remainder of the trail we heard groaning noises. It sounded like a giant beast snoring. My thought was that it could be a wild boar sleeping but whatever it was sounded very large chested and you could hear it breath for a few hundred feet.

We passed within a hundred feet of the noises and then it became more faint as we almost came out into the open area where we parked. Quietly we sneaked past the tent and drove on off up the dirt road and out of the Bluffton Point area. We did not have one incident where the radar detector went off so who was monitoring us coming in but not leaving? The answer to this remains a mystery.

With that in mind it was a pretty adventurous night full of ghost and other unexplained incidents deep in the Florida woods. Many of the locals will not go out in these woods at night because of strange deaths, disappearances, and bigfoot which roams in the night.

I do believe we had a close encounter with this beast and although we could not track him something intelligent roams the Bluffton Point area. We can only hope from this point on to collect other peoples stories.

In conclusion to the report we got some really good activity. I would say many of our upcoming investigations will involve woods with a few cemeteries involved in the mix. I just wish we could get more folks to come on out with us so we could split off in groups, camp out, etc etc its very hard when its just Jason and I covering miles of woods on foot.

Now with that in mind I will be getting out triple news articles to my groups today to make up for not being online all weekend. But it was a nice weekend spent Saturday fishing and swimming then yesterday watched Narnia. I hope with that in mind everybody took the weekend off to reflect at how great of a group we are. peace
Rick
