I saw a special on discovery talking about how the Sphix was originally a lion made by prehistoric people, and that the egyptians found it and carved Kufo's head into it, thats why the head is disproportioned to the body.

I didnt get to see that...really? Its possible I mean the sphinx is kind of odd looking. Cayce also talked about its secret chambers which have not been discovered yet.

About Me: I AM the paranormal. I love death/ghosts/cryptozoology,etc. My hero is the Reaper because in death, we all become our perfect self. I am married to Rob 5 years this July and I'd kill/maim/dismember for him and our kids. I have a Supernatural high and I've tried everything once. I don't scare easily unless confronted by a circus clown or mall Santa. I am a pyromaniac. If you see me, I'll be the chubby lady dressed in black with alot of makeup, if you see me at all. Mostly I haunt your nightmares. I will be in an old cemetery listening to the dead or in old buildings soaking up the atmosphere with my ever present digital camera. I don't take the afterworld lightly and the first way to piss me off is to not take the dead seriously. I hate all holidays except Halloween. I love the night and all that walks in it.
Favorite Quotes: mortuii vivos docent- the dead teach the living.
Death is the ultimate equalizer, no man beats the reaper.
I'd like to see underneath that sucker. Plus I think some soldiers shot it's face off back in the day. Hope they all died of diseased crotch crab infestation- I freakin hate desecration. I just watched a special about how the pyramids were built. That was way out there. The ultimate gravestone.
I've always wondered about those Easter Island heads. They aren't even native stone to those islands. I bet there is a tie in to Atlantis in those somewhere.

About Me: I'm your usual dude. I love to play the guitar, I have alot to learn, I love my wife and kids with a passion and would proudly go to my grave for them. I don't drink much anymore, I quit toking years ago, but I still know how to enjoy life and have fun. My wife is my drug, I'm addicted and can't get enough. I revolve my life around her, if I'm not at work, you will find me with her and the kids off on one of our adventures. We love the paranormal and spend a large amount of time researching it. That is about all I can say about me.
Favorite Quotes: "When darkness falls, I come alive, fear me, for I am the Phantom of Darkness"
Actually babe, the "statues" on Easter Island are native to the land. They are called Moai. I can't remember for sure on some of this but they claim the statues date back to 1500 CE give or take a few hundred years. The Moai were actually carved out of volcanic ash from around the three volcano's that make up Easter Island. This ash rock is often referred to as "Tuff" I believe. They say there was actually around 900 statues made, but only about 50 or so made it to the stone platforms on the coastal plains. Many of them have been restored, but there are still many burried up to their necks from the soil building up around them over the year's. Easter Island is an intriguing little piece of history that definately merrits more time from me on research. I do know that there are also many complete whole houses carved from stone on the island too. I can't remember for sure but I think the native people learned the art of stone carving from another civilization that came to the islands and tried to inslave the islanders. To think that people could actually make it to the island back around 500-800 BC and settle there is more intriguing to me than the statues, Easter Island is one of the most isolated inhabited places on earth, it is like almost 3000 miles from mainland South America. Very interesting indeed. I love you babe, just thought I would let you know about the place, I to used to think that the Statues came from somewhere else.

I too have seen specials on this topic and have done some reading on it. Kofu is said to have been the model for what is left of the head. But, the last special I watched on the Egyptian civilization the people on that show seemed to think maybe the head is that of Rameses the second. As far as it being built by a prehistoric people, it could very well be possible. Another think that looks like an egyptian head that I like to look at pics of is the one on Mars that all the experts are saying is a rock with shadow's and nothing more. I don't agree with them on this one. I think it is something left from an old civilization that inhabited Mars many millenia ago, and that it is the only thing left on the surface after whatever it was that killed them off-Asteroid, Comet, etc.-If I were ever able to go to Mars, the first thing I would do is start digging.

Mars suffers from deserts overwhelming it with acid rain hot days cold nights. If humans continue to treat earth the way they do it will one day look much like mars a red planet with dried out lakes and oceans.
