Woodlawn Cemetery is a very classy burial area in the town of Orchard Park. It is not very large probably 10-20 acres of land and covered by very large oak trees. It is very ritzy some stones on platforms, other ones with crowns, a few tall monuments and it is a fairly comfortable one to walk through. The only thing that makes it foreboding is how dark this place is at night. You can barely see your own hands in some of the areas in back of the cemetery. The oldest part of the cemetery is in the center area which dates back to around the mid 1800s. Their is very little vandalism here as only a few stones are knocked to the ground. I also noticed that this small cemetery is alot colder then most I have gone you constantly feel embraced or surrounded no matter where you walk too. I like this cemetery and if I had the time and funding I would visit it many times. This cemetery I am sure does not have alot of history however it is owned by the Woodlawn Cemetery association which owns many other Woodlawn's in the state of NY.
