About two years ago I found this little Gem nestled in the woods overshadowed by a mountain which was once an active volcano. The history really is a mystery however one topic of interest that stood out was that this parcel of land was the site of a remount station for the Pony Express.

I had plans to take this project into two separate phases. The first phase would be to explore the manor and hike around in Cary Canyon to plan out our second phase of the investigation. In the future our second phase will transpire deeper into Cary Canyon, Cary Summit and possibly Horse Thief Canyon.

When I approached the manor you could clearly see brush and trees were consuming the property. The Woodsfords Manor was completely made of stone or rather materials that are found surrounding it. You could literally see copper ore embedded with other rocks within the manors outside walls.

Although I have been here many times I thought it would be a good idea to delve deeper around the property. Therefore I brought a gauss meter, EVP recorder and photo blasted the area surrounding this stone building. To my surprise I would have to say there was never a dull moment when it came to the strange here.

For example one of the doors had a dead pigeon with no head on it while another set of double doors slammed shut on its own nearly crushing my fingers. Meanwhile I shined my lights through the window to discover more and more that this was a homestead of some sorts. It was very unique as it also had a tile roof something you do not see often in this region. Some of them were on the ground shattered from brutal wind storms.

Nearby up on a hill is an old safe, rusty machine and a set of mine cart tracks. Which appeared to be leading deeper into the canyon as we found a portion of the wagon road contain some very old asphalt.
Before I went for my hike I looked in one of the main entrances through the wood boards to discover some sort of utility room which looked like it had a massive walk in freezer.

Jarrod and I worked hard on communicating with unknown forces here thus we did get some really great EMF spikes that I recorded on our cam. The first readings led us to a sealed red door that would not budge. Even though it connected to the manor we have a feeling it may have led to a basement of very dark secrets.

The second reading took place on the side of the manor near some double doors that slammed on there own shut. Strangely the readings were only captured on the step in the very corner as I continually told the entity to come to me come to me and boy did it ever. So the entities here are very conscious and we believe based on our research that this is how they were making their presence known to us.

We would eventually take an old milling and mining road to a place I call Witchwood. Within the brush are also trees that grow very close together. In a way it is so thick it blocks out the sun and anything can be hiding watching or waiting. Considering this canyon leads up onto Wades Point which is a mountain on the other side of the Faye-Luther pass near Jobs Peak it would not surprise me if we will find evidence of this region as well.

Considering the fact that the Woodfords is a small community it has been very much alive for 150 years as Emigrants made there way through the Sierras into California. So there was allot of history to this area considering its the oldest non native settlement in Alpine County which is 97 percent desolate.

We went a good ways up the path I reviewed a video which shows a dark object perhaps animal maybe even a Sasquatch ducking down in the brush. It could be anything so I do not want to speculate since I only captured it for a mere two seconds and never put much thought into it till later after the investigation.

As we once again made our way through Witchwood Jarrod found an antler it was not there when we hiked through there the first time. Then about another 30' he discovered another one. That is when I felt like something was messing around with us.

Both sets of antlers were placed neatly on the center of the trail and they were not there minutes prior to us hiking on the path. We wanted to take them home they are off a 6 pointer and really nice looking. Its amazing the gems, rocks and other sorts of things we find on our journeys.

It was getting dark out so it was time for Jarrod and I to finish up the investigation by walking around the manor one last time. We found a massive water tank encased by stone and even a propane tank on the property which tells me that the manor at one point was modernized to some degree.

I am very excited to get this out onto the site not only are the views gorgeous of the sierras and high desert but it truly is an unknown historic site that very few know about. I look forward to returning and doing more extensive research on the manor and in national forest which is just a few hundred feet behind the manor.

Lastly I will say the property is rather eerie no matter what I always felt watched. There is no electric that is running to the manor anymore yet our EMF detector went off with extremely high rare readings. Lastly the canyon is a gateway between the Carson Range and the Sierras. It would not take much effort for something cryptid like Bigfoot to traverse the mountains along Tahoe and make there way into the Iceberg Wilderness which is visible from this manor.

I really look forward to returning here this place is a real thriller especially knowing that at one time a Pony Express Station stood right along the same narrow road that the manor is on. This truly was a great way to start our March investigations.

We found this dead headless bird on the doorstep of the manor not that it is paranormal but in some cultures its a symbol of bad luck. Besides the high EMF spikes we had gotten surrounding a locked door within the manor we did capture some EVPs surrounding the outside of the manor. Since the manor resided along the Pony Express and Emigrant trail thousands had passed through. Where there is history there is also ghost. We also found a set of deer antlers strangler they appeared magically out of nowwhere within seconds of us turning around and picking them up. In some way shape or form the forest surrounding the manor feels enchanted. Perhaps its the beauty that can be decieving known that at one time this was a historic site that seperated the high desert and the sierras. Thus it is a focal point in this region and important one during the time the Pony Express was operable.

For some odd reason or another our EMF Gauss detector went off at very high levels the closer we made our way towards a heavily fortified door. Where does this door lead to a basement? Perhaps some dark secret is being kept here? Nonetheless we were very excited to get activity surrounding the manor.

The doors are chained whatever reason this is I feel maybe someone is not only trying to keep something out but maybe something in as well. This is a clip of me asking the entity to come to us seconds later the meter goes off like crazy on the step in that very corner. This is when we realized we made contact I also recorded an EVP at this very location which is on our site.

Witchwood is a nickname for this section of the canyon which is so overgrown that it nearly blocks out the sun. Within these woods is also a small section of old asphalt and many small pieces of quartz which give signs that some mining took place here. Nature is consuming everything however due to that a creature like Bigfoot could easily take refuge here watching without anyone noticing. Pay attention to the video to the dark creature that is hiding in the thick which appears to be sitting down. I did not notice that I filmed it for a couple seconds during my hike deeper into the canyon.
Dusk was beginning to set on in so Jarrod and I decided to call it a day. On our way back through Witchwood after Jarrod showed off how tough of an investigator he is we found two sets of antlers. What is really strange about it is that they were not there minutes prior to us hiking through here. It is as if they appeared out of nowhere and based on the looks of them they were shed awhile ago. We look forward to returning here to traverse deeper into Cary Canyon and eventually stand up on Cary Peak!
