A fairly large cemetery surrounded by two lakes and orange groves has many haunting tales as it was erected in the 1800s. I do not have alot of history about this cemetery although I can tell you that there are rumors that it is extremely haunted and for very experienced Ghostbusters. So this is something we really wanted to work with to see how true or not the stories are.

The cemetery sits on a hill and is split into two sections on one side of the road a newer section which has very little activity then the other side an older section which has alot of energy, feelings of being watched, cold spots, and glimpses of things tend to catch your eyes. The older section has the pillars in the back of the cemetery as if at one time the entrance was on the lake side.

Many people report however strange noises, a woman screaming, voices calling for help. Some say the entities here are dangerous there is no sign of that from our first investigation here. I think that alot of people in today's world really misunderstand the paranormal or signs they are given perhaps.

There are also a few confederate soldiers buried here not to many but most cemeteries in Florida that have a civil war soldier buried at them tend to be fairly old.

James Marion Owens and Rosena Clementine Chapman had lived in the ghost town of St. Francis and after 7 years they moved to Umatilla. They purchased roughly 400 acres around Umatilla and put in orange groves. This perhaps would explain why there is many groves surrounding the cemetery. The groves perhaps seem more active then the cemetery.

I am not even sure if its this cemetery or not but I believe many years ago the grave of a woman was dug up and her body was strung out across the cemetery property. From what I was told is that most of body was in tact but looked as if others had stolen body parts or perhaps something off her maybe jewelry? I am not sure of the whole story but this just gives you how strange this place is. Its one of those cemeteries that ever step you take might bring a new discovery. But its also one of these places where you could look out of the corner of your eye and catch a glimpse of something. Recently however a group of three women were grave robbing and that article you can read on our Ponceannah Cemetery page which is posted there.

Although there is rumor that its very haunted or that the spirits are harmful here our team came to the conclusion that this was one of the more peaceful places we visited during our first investigation. There was no anger or unwanted feelings. Even as Lee stated its one of these places that does not have alot of ghost or activity but what is there perhaps is very strong or active whether its a ghostly lady or something else in nature.

But there are many weird sites here more so then paranormal activity such as this giant rock composed of all kinds of gravestones, or pillars in the back of the cemetery, or like this wall which is broke in different places and scattered like an earthquake hit it in different sections all the way to eerie trees growing with no branches on them.
