We have come to live in a world where technology controls the peoples minds so even though what you may see on television appears to be real generally it is often misconstrued. In today's world the paranormal has become a business particularly for production companies trying to pitch their series to networks such as the SYFY network or some other similar channel. Most of the shows take on a similar stance with an oh my god, holy beep, do you hear or feel something. Their is no true emotions or passion for whatever it is that is being displayed on the camera accept a group of actors and actresses knowing that they are being paid to belittle the audience even if that means taking it as far as lying to their very own friends and fans.

When I was a kid I took a huge interest into the paranormal so if you really want to know I have been doing this for most of my life. We once had a haunted basement at this very old place up in Buffalo NY with a mask of the devil hanging. The very first thing I did was get an entire group of neighborhood kids to join my team and attack it with broom sticks. I remember the suspense but I also remember growing up seeing ghost and other things I could not explain. This is where my passion for what it is I do stems from the heart. I believe that at an early age their was a reason behind these visitations I had and that it is my destiny to chase the paranormal. I have given my entire life for this cause not from any television program but because the paranormal has played a huge part of my life since a very early age.

More then often when a paranormal television show debuts they try to bring on a pretty lady, few celebrities or some who might just look good on camera. Most of the time they are actors or actresses who might be great at a movie but ask yourself how many of them are truly qualified to deal with Cryptids, Ghosts, UFOs, Conspiracies and other strange Paranormal Phenomena.

When I first opened up my doors operating a paranormal research society their honestly was no reality shows that chased the paranormal. I believe I was one of the first groups to be contacted to host one it fell through not because of our qualifications it just was not heard of by big name networks nor popular. However we were a candidate based on our credentials offering the public a sense of humor, adventure and a down to earth aspect of what the paranormal is about in its purest form.

Over the years so many mainstream shows become the foundation of so many new amateur paranormal groups. Those who watch those shows are only taught what they know through a television. If a paranormal shows gets a heat signature of a canine on camera like SYFY's Haunted Highway produced by Base Productions their will be people who will believe in it. However how far are the production companies and networks going to go before they hurt the paranormal industry.

A true paranormal investigator knows this is a thankless job we spend nights out in the rain, climb mountains along cliffs, get books thrown at us at haunted houses and we never ask for anything. We only do all of this for the love of helping others learn, grow and bind new friendships along the way. We are qualified all because we build over the years an endless amount of memories and experiences.

When you put together a television show evidence is contaminated as their sometimes can be dozens of people standing around the team of investigators or if you would rather host. From my experience their are always new tech's, producers and employees brought onto the set with each investigation. This does not allow you to build any chemistry and it certainly is far from any journey.

It kind of is like being a captain of a ship if you are there for just a paycheck you will never win anyone over especially the crew. Once a television show about the paranormal is caught with lying or faking a paranormal scene how will such a show bounce back. Sure their will be those who are ignorant and will believe in everything they see. However those that have been paranormal scholars for many years know when a show is scripted or evidence is fraudulent.

I remember when I was a child I took my first ghost photo sent it into some ghostbusters. I had to be about seven years old at the time. That group ended up doing a LIVE investigation of Fort Niagara on the radio at night it was intense. I thought to myself when I get older I want to be like these guys not because its cool but as a seven year old I was intrigued with it. It was not a television show that intrigued me as their is nothing exciting about watching actors become dramatic over a bump in the night when a true paranormal investigator will chase it down to not only learn about it but to share it with the rest of society.

What qualifies most of these producers to one day get hired onto a show to chase the paranormal is it their cameras? Is it the fact that for them its the thrill of paid meals, traveling, hotel and in the end a pay check Most of them are very young and inexperienced outdoors. Allot of them spend more time figuring out how to fake a scene so that the crowd continues to watch the show. Imagine if aliens landed in the middle of the set do you think any producer or its cast would stick around to find out what would happen next? When nothing occurs and a television show feels they have lost that is when they take desperate measures to see everything around them as paranormal such as a noise or a coyote howling.

Over the years I have had fans write me asking me is this show real or that show. Most people would rather follow our society or come on out onto the field to actually learn things then to waste their time watching a bunch of big guys cry like a kid. Its embarrassing to the paranormal world we live in and you have to ask yourselves when is enough really enough?

Many of you who watch such paranormal shows probably are not aware but their are zoning restrictions limiting where filming can be done at. So in actual reality your not really seeing the entire historical site or ghost town. In reality what is being shown on television is a few edited segments done in a very limited space. Generally when my team investigates we may hike for 18 hours straight however most film crews are treated with royalty with SUV's full of junk food. If it rains you have the luxury of hiding in the vehicles or if your gear breaks down its okay because the production crew will just act another scary scene to earn more profits to replace it.

Their are many paranormal groups who are tempted to join the television industry sadly they should be prepared that chances are your going to be given a script. You may be told to lie and if you talk you might be even threatened for doing so. Those that do not will continue to be pawns in a game of chess until the truth leaks out and it always does. The truth leaked out about Ghosthunters being faked many times with many different scenes. The producer who faked the Hell Hound scene in Haunted Highways El Dorado hell hounds also worked on producing Ghosthunters. Its the same old story just another show and it may never change when it comes down to one thing which is money!

Allot of times most production crews talk to some of the best paranormal scholars in the world. Those scholars give really great evidence and information. Most of that information never gets released to the public or its edited to appease the producer and the network. Sure their is a man running in a gorilla suit meanwhile the investigator is chasing down this Bigfoot imposter and the production network edits that part out. They are like well lets make others believe that's a real Sasquatch and cut the rest of the footage on out.

Perhaps times were better before the world became a place of fake psychics praying on victims who are down and out for their money. It really is no different for those who host such television shows or produce them. They are preying upon a younger generation to draw them in because without YOU to watch such a farce their ratings would be no more and the show would be forced to be canceled. We the people control television it is not the other way around nor should it ever be.

I also think it is important that shows that pretend to be reality shows but rather are for entertainment need to disclose this. As it is important that my legacy amongst the many other scholars in the world carries on through our hard work not the stupidity of a television show trying to fill their banks. Basically it is like a ponzi scheme or manipulating the public to make money. It does not help that others involved will not do what is right and go public with this. Only a select few including myself have done so that is how you know we are honest about the paranormal work we do.

In this day and age their are thousands of paranormal groups most do it for a hobby or due to the fact they seen it on television. But honestly ask yourself how many of these individuals would put their own life at risk for the paranormal. If you are not willing to give your life then you should have no business in this field. Real paranormal adventuring is dangerous just ask me I have thousands of scars including one when I nearly went over a waterfall and ended up in some rapids.

Paranormal investigating becomes a part of the individuals character it is not about how you look it is about the knowledge you contain. It is about what is in the heart and the passion that burns from within. When I was on the set of Haunted Highway Jack and Dana's concern was for themselves. They had no interest in climbing over that hill to see what was on the other side let alone they were worried about what animal was going to eat them. Ask yourselves this just for a minute ponder. What business do any host or investigator on any paranormal program have being on television searching for monsters when they are more concerned about themselves? If you are scared of a bobcat you have no business chasing a 1,200 Sasquatch!

From what I found from the television industry is that most production companies such as Base Production personally told me that real adventuring was not being allowed. Anotherwards that would mean no actual hiking, climbing, exploration or anything that involved physical endurance. This generally applies with most shows as the producers get paid to much to take any real risk especially for the paranormal when all they have to do is fake it.

Many years ago I did a segment for Warner Brothers was out all night in a haunted asylum. I came back into town immediately was interviewed on some locations we investigated. The producers told me they would air my interview about some of these locations since honestly I was one of the very few who had been in some of the locations they were airing the episode about. Disrespectfully when I arrived for the interview the only thing they cared about is using my friends death to make their episode more exciting. The same friend who was killed by a hit and run drunk driving while walking on my side to a cemetery one evening.

I enjoy a good horror film what I do not enjoy is a cheesy paranormal reality show that airs a crew who has no paranormal experience. Just as you can tell it is scripted what I mean is they are told what to say and how to say it just so they can try to get a rise out of the audience. This misrepresentation of the paranormal is hurting the community and in reality it is creating more skeptics. Their are those who watch such shows then are crushed by them to a degree that they lose interest in the paranormal all together.

As a father of two children they are not into paranormal shows perhaps because they have had a taste of what actual paranormal investigating is about. Nobody pays me to do what I do everything comes out of our own pockets. If we get injured or end up hurt on an investigation it is because we are working hard for all our fans to bring them the truth. We risk our lives each and everytime we go out into the unknown. Their is always the threats of people, wild animals and accidents. How does someone continue to push on knowing that such television shows falsity continues to earn them praise for their dishonesty?

No matter how real something appears to be on TV the truth will only come out if others speak out. Why do so? Because it is important to exercise your freedom of press, speech and do what is right. Although I am a very well known paranormal investigator across the globe who is not afraid to speak out their are some who are. They might fear that they may lose an opportunity to be on a falsified paranormal television show. If that is the case then they have no business working with the paranormal to begin with.

I consider myself to be such a talented paranormal investigator as I am not a narrow minded in my field of work. When I go out into the field I am able to be a UFOLOGIST, Parapsychologist, Cryptzoologist but most of all a friend. When I do interviews for newspapers I give honest answers just as on television I never have had to use a script. I can use just about any piece of paranormal equipment and am well knowledgeable in many topics of the paranormal. I operated one of the first paranormal radio shows years ago and did stand up comedy. Our ratings were off the charts at one time in our history and millions have viewed our work. Those millions did not turn out their televisions they simply opened up their eyes. They were inspired to learn and that is the soul purpose of running a paranormal research society. It is to teach those what is real and what is not something no paranormal show will ever do!

Have you ever wondered why in every paranormal television show finds something strange each and every episode? For example every episode in Haunted Highway they get something on their thermal cams one week its Bigfoot the next its a hell hound. Oops I meant man in the woods and German Shepherd Canine in the sagebrush. Just like Ghosthunters their is always a shadow, EVP or a door slamming. Anybody who has ever done paranormal research and investigation knows that not every location has paranormal activity. Some locations are about the right time or place just as certain situations deserve debunking rather then the laws of assumption. What the producers of every production company and its investigators are trying to say that every place has Bigfoot, Ghost and Aliens! We must as intelligent humans start to see paranormal TV as fraudulent we must!

As much as I want credit for my hard work it is the television shows who continue to steal our ideas just as much as they pull case files from our site to make a mockery of it through their own production. We can only hope that research societies like ourselves someday have a chance to give the world what it is they been missing and that is real paranormal. I would never want to give the world anybody but the real Lord Rick even if that means I am eccentric looking I know that what we have done precedes what any paranormal show this has ever produced. The problem is will paranormal television continue to air puppets, frauds, liars and morons? If the producers and the networks are dishonest then they will continue to scout for others in the field who also are that is a fact. They will continue to profits from ratings and it is the public who continues to feed that war horse. Not knowing truly what is going on behind the scenes or what they are seeing is even fact!

I am afraid that until most of these television networks, production companies and cheesy cast members are gone most of us will never be able to enjoy any paranormal show. Perhaps I should say that after all the past shows that sank due to being caught manipulating the public it is no doubt that I will never believe in a paranormal show unless I am the individual producing or investigating on it.

Each and everytime I step out that door to chase another legend, myth or the unknown is what it feels like to truly live. I have nobody to impress nor do I have to worry about ratings so that television networks such as the SYFY and Base Productions continue to expand so that they can continue to provide its viewers with even more fiction. I have seen things that most only dream about. I have journeyed to the beyond and back. I have experienced the unknown by living it and breathing it. Why must you ask? All because I never once fell for the falsity of any paranormal show. Rather I went out into the unknown and lived it for myself which is something all of you must do. So many of you waste hours of your time watching such shows becoming religiously fans of them and its casts. But if your spouse, friend, colleague, lover or even someone you idolized would that not crush or hurt you? It crushes me everyday to know we live in a world where I risk my life chasing the paranormal and a few goons make millions off it sitting on their asses! That is the Falsity of generally most paranormal television shows!

The original interview was supposed to take place at the location where I had my sighting. To answer my viewers questions no my name is not Rick Fisher and no I was not a local resident. I was literally years ago one of the first paranormal groups to work with the hell hounds and lore surrounding El Dorado. Originally my interview was supposed to take place at El Dorado Canyon then they moved me to the Nugget Casino in Searchlight. My beer is blurred out if you noticed and the long interview I gave about these hell hounds was cut down to a mere 20 seconds. It is ashamed that the show Haunted Highway cannot give paranormal scholars credit for their finds and their discoveries. It is all done to make the cast look like the experts when in fact they have no paranormal expertise whatsoever. I can tell you what shame on SyFy and base productions for ruining a really great interview. I had over a thousand emails of others stating they would have rather watched that full segment of me then a German Shepherd running through the sage brush. My interview was not scripted although they tried as I operate my own radio program, paranormal organization, done news editorials and been on television quite a few times prior to this interview for the El Dorado Hell Hounds Episode!
