Woodlawn Cemetery
I did not even know where to start this cemetery is huge so big that it reminded me of Forest Lawn here in Buffalo. After reading reports on the place I wanted to see how true they were. I started off walking past the first mausoleum. Right away I knew this would be a difficult place the snow in some areas was 3 feet high and some of the roads were not plowed. The cemetery I believe goes for a good mile by a half so easily you can get turned around or lost. As many oak trees are
inside, roads, paths, stones Ect.
I walked up a few roads then cut into the older section. A few times I had to turn around I felt something behind me. Also on numerous occasions something tugged on my back or hit it. It started to becoming annoying as I would turn around real quick and nothing was there. I ended up having to walk on some tombstones because they were completed buried under snow. It was a disaster area here.
But basically I covered the older half of the cemetery and the older areas. Alot of the stones here were statues, one area had an angel statue which was quite active as if something was hiding behind it. I heard footsteps here following me and even a rabbit darted out behind a stone at me. So many surprises lurked around the cemetery. I walked down about 5-10 roads cutting across certain areas to capture photos.
I even visited the veterans area which had cannons it was pretty interesting to see at a cemetery. The cemetery basically was very large nothing out of the ordinary a few noises up near the trees, walking, felt uneasy at the older section. But it turned out to be really a nice investigation just very tiring to hike threw all the snow.
I made my way back to the front gates and wanted to capture some ghost in the front it just gives you some perspective is all to have a ghost pose next to the main sign. I captured a woman she is in a gown, long hair, legs, arms everything. I was pretty excited about this and it will be my prized photo of this investigation. As rumors of the lady in white perhaps are true here.
Although she did not chase me out which was good I believe she adored my presence.
In closing I would like to say I am more then half way done with my weekend full of frights and investigations. Tonight will complete the final phase. Ya know people ask me why bother traveling that far or hiking threw all that snow? Very simple it has its rewards yeah there are many roads I could take photos at or even quarries near my house. But none with the historical significance such as the places I visited last night. Usually a good history means a good ghost story. So did all these places turn out well? A big yes! I was 3 for 3 last night and again my hard work proved to pay off.
Peace,
Rick
