Spirit Pond is part of Seneca park and is known for the Mae Graves Ward Gazebo. I do not have a lot of history here however I can tell you that strangely enough almost every morning a fog covers this pond. Also the ashes of the local residents are poured into the pond that is how it got its name. With Colby Temple being so close I would assume that they would do some kind of ceremony at the ward here when a local member of the community passes on.

This is also an interesting place sits it sits next to the very eerie Summer Land House which at one time had a swimming pool and was some sort of bed and breakfast. Now it serves as a corporate office for the community. My friend told me she thinks the house is haunted based on her feelings over the years that nobody including her will even go near the house.

Another person I met up with told me he seen a shadow go right past him right within the park. Others who are daring enough to venture here at night often pick up orbs and various Ectoplasmic shots. So the park itself seems activate. None the less the park itself is a cozy little ward as stone benches, giant willow trees and the gazebo sit right on the pond. One could spend hours sharing inspirational thoughts here.  Many from Colby Temple come down here to sit at the gazebo.

Aside from that just a 100' away in part of this park is another new area set aside called Reverend Harry Fogels Park at one time it was a few blocks away and they moved it closer to spirit pond. I believe the park is used by a temple for outdoor masses and ceremonies. Since this part of the park is right next to Seneca Park & Spirit Pond I have combined it all together.

I heard a story from a friend......who was browsing our site that many years ago early 1900s a small child fell out of a row boat on the pond. The body was never retrieved. He suggested that maybe the adult in the boat did not know how to swim so they did not jump in after the child or did not know what to do. Of course years ago the alligators in such places were not maintained and this could have been the reason. Some say that the Haunting's around the pond are related to this Childs death!

Do the spirits of Cassadaga wander the ponds shoreline? Spirit pond can leave your mind wandering beyond the realms of reality!
