Spirit Lake or rather called Divers Lake is said to be a very mystical place or a place of power. Rather then it being haunted perhaps it has more history then it does ghost and creatures of the night. We may not even have the right lake since a couple other small ones are present in the area. But everything matches up to it and if not the whole area is strange as its not too far away is the very haunted Sand Hill and Shanks Road. The lake is not very large probably the size of a football field but it is surrounded by woods and 2 homes now. As a child I use to pass this lake but never thought nothing of it. Also I use to camp on the lake next to here until it was turned into a housing development area and now the one lake, roads, and area are private property so now the owners can enjoy the Indian legends.

Mark said he did not feel right here or rather uncomfortable but to me this is the type of place you take your date look at the stars with a blanket and watch the calm water. Are there ghost here? Well naturally the lake is said to be ancient. As the first man in Genesee Country arrived crossing the ancient forest to the Ice Aged Tundra on the lakes edge 11,000 years ago. Archaeological digs have proved to find chipped stone spear points as probably early man which was Paleo-Indian followed herds of animals which would stay near lakes and streams. Perhaps that is why they call this Divers Lake Flint Quarry. Maybe the Indians used the flint along the lake bed and in the lake to make there spear heads.

Whether it is 11,000 years ago or a few hundred years ago the idea is that this area is old, spiritual and at one time thrived as Indians drank from its waters, fished, collected flint from its weapons and bathed.  Perhaps at one time or another someone drowned here many accidents happen in our history and perhaps those occurrences have the end result of an area being so haunted.
