Searchlight Cemetery

Tammy and I spent a good hour offroading searching for this location. Strange how so many roads are unmarked in the town of Searchlight. We had been going in circles for awhile even at one point I was driving on the runway to the airport must had taken a back way in it happens. Tammy was all worried I was all laughing to myself because this isn't the first runway I had drove on. Back in Cedar Point Florida I drove on a runway once hehe.

So anyhow after driving down dead end roads...Harry Reid Ave. .dirt roads...and even soft washes we made one simple turn and there it was the wrought iron entrance to the cemetery. I never thought I would be happier at this point as I pulled the car up next to some grave stones.

When we got out the weather was different it was much cooler and breezy. Off in the distance I could see the lights of the runway from the airport. It sure was dark here though we got a nice view of the stars.

I expected the cemetery to be much more active paranormal wise but in reality the place was dead quiet. Tammy and I split up most of the time as their were about 3 to 4 roads that cut through the cemetery.

Although the cemetery wasn't very haunted it was strange as miners were buried with piles of ore....silver.....even mining tools laying around their grave site. While the Reid family had some of the less fancy type of tombstones compared to others who were very prominent within the towns history.

Their were at least a good 100 burials here and what we noticed is all the burials were either elderly people who lived past 80 years of age or infants. One grave had a toy homemade tin robot. It was apparent the cemetery had not been very well maintained. Desert brush was consuming most graves and most of the wrought iron surrounding plots was very rusty.

I do have to say this cemetery was by far one of the coolest I visited in southern NV compared to some of the greater ones I did back east. Their was a real creepy feeling here but we didn't see anything. Some graves were piles of rock while others were hand carved tombstones. I noticed allot of family plots didn't notice many women buried here at all.

The winds were whipping kind of hard to take EVPs when its like this so at this point the paranormal aspect of it was gone but the exploration was not. We found this one area the wrought iron fencing was ripped down so their were signs vandals already got to this place. I even found a chunk of silver guess what? I left it alone but to a vandal they would have taken it to me I have no interest in riches I just was glad to be in a cemetery under the night sky good stuff.

I found a wood epitaph....including a stone slab that had the various minerals found in the area similar to the one at the Cottonwood mine site earlier. While one family plot had a bunch of crosses made out of plastic. Their were at least 15 to 20 unmarked graves we came across as well. These ones always get to me everytime.

After searching for the first couple hours for grave sites it was nice to be in an actual cemetery. We closed up the investigation I changed into some warmer clothes and we were ready to conquer some mines next on the agenda.

This anomaly is just hovering outside the fence almost as if something is looking in at us its hard to say but its the real deal.
