The Olcott Tavern & Inn is a very old fashioned looking brick building located in a very rural area. When you drive past the place it sits farther back into the woods and it reminded me of one of those old buildings in the wild west. It had an old school house. Easily though you could mistake this place for a mansion, a restaurant, a tavern, a bed and breakfast but in reality I believe it was many things.

 We estimated the building to be at least around a century old. Keep in mind this area is very old miles away is a school house from the year 1825 so it would not surprise me if this place is just as old. I do believe that this place was not just a tavern and inn but also a upholstery business. I found sewing machines, a sign, threads and other things to indicate this. The furniture here is also very antique like the old carved wooden tables, fancy velvet chairs etc. I believe it was one of the 2 first a tavern or a upholstery place. Their is alot of history found at this place upstairs the old wallpaper on the walls, a very high staircase leading up stairs, a swinging door leading to the kitchen area, a stage and bar, a lounge area with a counter. 

The place is very nice to walk around however many have vandalized it which has made it a little unsafe to walk around in due to some holes in floors and debris. Their is a secret room in the basement it almost looks like it was covered up and cemented its purpose I do not know but it makes me uneasy. Back in the days of old bodies and people were buried in walls, basement floors or sealed off in certain areas. It made me my curiosity grow. Whether it is haunted or not I cannot say there is a few faces we picked up here and heavy cold spots. But one thing that remains is that the spirits are always available at the Olcott Tavern & Inn!
