I honestly can say there is not a lot of history to the Maplewood Rural Cemetery. However what I can tell you is that there are stones that date back to the 1820s. Some of them are wooden crosses, tall stone monuments, Celtic crosses and many other pretty stones. From what we observed the cemetery is a large mix of religions and this is one of the largest cemeteries in the Concord/Springville area. The cemetery is surrounded by very old colonial homes some ranches and there is many large old trees throughout it and even down some of its dark roads. I really feel at home here and if I could chose a place to be buried this would be one of the places I would choose. It is so pretty and so well maintained there is maybe one stone I seen that was on the ground but even the 170 year old stones are sitll legible. I liked this cemetery because of the rolling hills it gave it a mysterious look to it. Some of the headstones are right in some peoples backyards. Although we probably will not visit here again we still enjoyed this very old cemetery in the Western NY area.
