In 1894 the land for Lake Mary Cemetery was donated by Judge David J. Pulling and his wife Susan. Many prominent people to the lake Mary area are buried here families like Evans, Sjobloms and Sundells in the oldest section. The first burial here was a man by the name of Carl Lundquist which was in 1895 a year after the land was donated.

The cemetery sits near the railroad tracks which are well over a century old. But also near the cemetery were the houses of William N. Webster and Bertie C. Martin which were post offices one from 1887 to 1906 and the other from 1906 to 1919. Martin's post office was located behind Sjoblom's first store in the general area. So many of the burials that took place were residents of this street and area.

Back in the 1970s the cemetery became very neglected and overun by brush. The woods consumed most of the cemetery and was barely visible from the road. As the years passed it was a local hangout but since that time it has been cleaned up and beautified. Today the cemetery is still in use and the only woods left are the ones on the edge of the cemetery.

Their are a few deaths here which are quite sad like one of a large stone with praying hands that sits between the graves of children and the mother Betty. Robert and Robin twins of Betty were killed along with their cousin Richard in car accident in Sanford. This was back in late 1970s to early 1980s.

Then their is another stone fairly large with the name Reaves on it. You will find mother, father, brother and sister. The parents and daughter died on the same date the brother is still alive so we must assume this was the grave caused by another tragic accident.

As a paranormal investigator it is one of the hardest things at times walking into a cemetery and seeing so many kids buried at such a place. Sometimes you see things like parents and children dying on the same day or inscriptions with pictures. Hell we even found a teddy bear all muddy near one of the grave stones.

Their also is a fox like creature that watches you from the woods. We cannot say its animal or Cryptid but imagine driving into a cemetery seeing eyes watching you for over a half hour then eventually coming face to face with a creature that pops up stares at you and vanishes before your eyes.

Other then that its a real peaceful place with an occasional night train that goes by stirring up the dearly departed.
