The Howry Dormitory use to be for men who attended Stetson University but its also been used as a house and at one time it was even abandoned left in very poor shape by vandals and weather. Eventually the the dorm has been recently restored with its shiny hard wood floors, double fire places, grand stair case, double porches and swaying chandeliers. Its an absolutely gorgeous establishment and with 4 floors of colonial beauty it sure makes an awesome investigation as well. 

I have passed the dormitory many times going for midnight strolls and walking my sons to school. But recently it has drawn me in. It is one of these things where you feel something is watching you from the upstairs window but you cannot see it everyday. So I was compelled to investigate it just wanted to wait for the right time. I know the owner so he gave me a little historical information on the place. The dorm is over 100 years old has a very similar architecture to my house just a different floor plan.

The house sits on pillars perhaps that are about 5 feet in height and that seems to be the area with the most activity. There are many other interesting features such as a back deck, a little balcony off to the side, the double porches, and chimneys. Its a really nice place but has a very eerie feeling especially now that the ground are very overgrown.

I performed our first investigation during the starting stages of hurricane Jeanne I wanted to bring everybody a suspense type of investigation where here you got this big storm coming in and were roaming a haunted dorm. The wind creaking things, the rain pitter pattering on the roof top Etc. The first investigation here was divided into 2 parts which was the night of the hurricane hitting then the morning after the hurricane came through. So that way the activity here could be measured in retrospect to storms.

We may decide to return here in the future as it really is a nice place and currently the owner is trying to sell it. The ones who buy it will be very lucky because the sign should say ghost included. So we must ask ourselves what secrets does this dorm hold do the students of the earlier days of Stetson roam its halls or did the previous owners decide to stick around to watch over this humble home? You Decide!!
