Hollywood Cemetery was established in 1870 although back in the 1800s there were very few burials and most of them are not even listed within the cemeteries guest list. The cemetery however is very elegant as bird baths line along its roads, hills roll, and many large trees grow within the cemetery. Behind it is another cemetery which is much older and the opposite. I do not have alot of history on the cemetery but none the less for many years to come it will be in use since its very large. One side of the cemetery is not even in use yet. One thing that stands out more then anything is the large amount of veterans buried here from WWII, Korean War and even Vietnam. There are 3 confederate soldiers buried here W.L. Cromer, Daniel C. Denison, and Amos W. Emanuel. One of there stones is broke and leaning on the base while the other two are extremely weathered. Confederate flags are at east of the grave sites. For me it is strange since up north you have your Union soldiers and in the south confederates. So for me I was quite excited to see these civil war stones. But it also gives you a perspective on the age of the cemetery and that at one time these veterans fought in historical wars now have come to rest here. I have included all three confederate stones taken during the day I found them from another source but wanted to share them to give you an idea. One thing that stood out here was a Hells Angels biker. That had to be one of the most well taken care of stones as a picture was there, flowers, porcelain angels, a candle lit and other things. But as a biker supporter I can only imagine the energy around his stone you can just feel it. But perhaps this was the most noticeable thing that stood out here. We will return two to three more times to the cemetery. since its quite large and we want to learn more about the unseen here. It is a very nice cemetery and not as tropical as other ones in the area. The rod iron gates in front give it a very foreboding feeling. © By Rick-AngelOfThyNight
