Papermill Ruins
I was worried about finding this place at night but due to research I had
some landmarks to look for. I heard stories about this place. It is one of
the highest visited sights in the pine Barrens its also one of the hardest
places to find.
We pulled up to the location and it was heavily fenced in, overgrown, and
very hard to see. We got in to take photos it was a no turn back type of
thing. Andrew was yelling at me at this point telling me I need to make
the initiative to drive 40 miles to the nearest gas station so he can get
something to drink I do not know why he just did not buy a 6 back of
Gatorades while we were at the store like I said my investigators do not
listen to me must be the pink hair oh well not my problem.
The ruins are just like the books and photos on sites but they are falling
apart terribly due to vandals. I felt a more ghostly presence here then I
did anything else. I mainly focused my skills on capturing some
apparitions at the old mill. I did not think much of the Jersey Devil
leaping into a fenced in area lol seriously the creature is not going to
trap himself in with a few guys its not dumb.
Their is not much to say the mill looked very much like most furnaces I
seen pictures of in the Pine Barrens. It was peaceful here we all went our
own ways and explored it was quite marshy so we had to be careful where we
stepped.
I admit I got a little fat on this trip so squeezing my way out of the
fence on the way out was like an obstacle course I am not kidding man I
almost died trying to contort myself lol. I then took the guys to an area
across the street part of a ghost town but nothing remains cause I
researched it later but their was various unmarked sites of mansions and
other structures unfortunately no foundations just the site itself in a
clearing.
I walked us back across the street and we took a loop trail it was to dark
but their is or was supposed to be cellar holes in this little patch of
woods. I did not see any again to dark to over grown so all we got to see
is the paper mill ruins which is fine cause a lot of people do not find
this place.
After this we ate dinner at Wendy's the only place I found in miles ran by
a bunch of kids who were wiping their hands all over the place, talking
away, the manager was picking his ass and I was like saying to myself I
would rather starve so I did not eat hardly anything just made sure the
guys ate. After this we went back into the Pine Barrens at night to hike
and of course you read about the hotel incident after Leeds Pointe which
brings everything up to par.
