Hampton's Furnace and Cranberry Warehouse

We hiked a long ways in to get here I found my mutilation nowhere near here but it was on the way. Adam told me to cut my losses I did refuse as the founder I have a lot of reasons why I go to certain places Hampton's furnace is a no no if you skip it.

We hiked past an open area where you could see was logged probably by the furnace itself. The forest was mystical and after 3 miles of hiking their it was foundations that were part of a cranberry warehouse. Not to far from here was train tracks so it was obvious that they were deported from here. The history is so wonderful that is a lot of what the trip was about was to cover this lore of the area.

After the foundations which had vines growing out of them we came across a bridge and found a small extension over water Adam says to me he knows that this is Hampton's furnace however I did not seen any foundations and the peninsula was 10 feet long by 5 feet wide no furnace could exist on such a small parcel of land.

I did find something else interesting off in the woods a Blue Hole just like the legend describes that is bottomless. Was this the real blue hole??? I will not tell you where we found it but Adam took a 10 foot branch and could not touch the bottom and the water was a green blue it looked very deep. Their are stories related to this blue hole as well so in a way we investigated two separate ones and this one fits the stories more its very small, deep, and blue in color as well as perfectly circular.

We hiked to a wide open area of land with a dead tree on it the guys stood their and did not go with me further into the woods. But I found a path leading down hill along the river onto a large peninsula of land. I found concrete tubes, some foundations, pieces of concrete,  as well as a cellar hole. I did photograph where the two rivers meet at the end of the peninsula I finally found Hampton's furnace a 7 hour expedition and it was found not easy to get to.

We started to head back I told the guys about it they did not want to check it out they said to me oh really I guess them working hard to get here they would not want to see the area who knows I know after a 3 mile hike an extra 300 feet would not kill me to at least look.

After this we fast hiked back to the car cut our time in half we had other places to do. We would be searching for Apple Pie Hill a hotspot in the Pine Barrens for adventurers. This would also be a means for us to start heading out and away from the Pine Barrens.
