Espanola Cemetery was established in 1875 it is not only one of the oldest cemeteries in Flagler but rumored to be one of the most haunted. This foreboding private cemetery sits on a dark wooded road their are no houses nearby just the faint sound of dogs howling off in the distance. Their are two parts of the cemetery separated by woods and a creek.

The newest part of the cemetery is very overgrown and has these walls at the entrance which are blocked off preventing cars or anybody from entering. That part of the cemetery is very swampy, lots of heavy brush growing, and we only found one burial here.

Across the creek is a whole different story their is hundreds of burials many of them extend deep into the woods to a point that its so pitch black you cannot even see a lonely car drive down the road in the distance. Many of the graves are buried in brush, weeds, some are tipped over, missing a stone with only the pedestal remaining. Even some burials are that of pets which I noticed quite frequently.

The EMF readings here are extremely high I got the impression that the ghost here were following us around. I do not think that the haunting here is the demeaning type. I think this is one of these type of cemeteries that is dark, quiet, secluded, very woodsy giving the ghost an opportunity to perhaps be a little more active.

It is a very eerie cemetery one of our investigators did see something and was touched. I think that the ghost here are very lonely and perhaps welcome any visitors. Its not the type of place you go in feeling unwanted I spent much of my time walking around without any light alone just taking it all in. Many of the older graves here are illegible so I do not have a clue on the first burial within the cemetery. I do know that one burial in the  1800s was a man with the last name of Raulerson the other ones their are no records of. Also one of the Pellicer family members is buried here which was a descendant of a pioneer  who purchased Cherokee Grove back in the 1700s in the general area.
