The Buffalo Society of Natural Science was founded in 1861. They have operated Tifft Nature preserve and they also are in charge of the museum itself. The society did not have a museum till 1915 which was on Elmwood Ave. Then in 1929 the museum which stands today that our organization investigated was a permanent home for all kinds of scientific finds such as artifacts, mummies, dinosaurs, insects, Over the years many educational leaders were changing hands with the museum.

From 1921 to 1941 education was taught by science lake which is in Allegheny. We did a investigation near science lake back in Dec. of 2003. The museum used radio to communicate. Then by WWII Television was used by the museum. In 1982 the Tifft Nature Preserve located near downtown Buffalo was utilized. I remember as a child visiting the nature preserve going fishing here, hiking on its trails and even going on field trips to learn about the area. I even won a fishing contest when I was about 6 years old here.  Tifft Farms at one time was Indian burial ground and later the city use to dump here. But the science museum was able to restore the 264 acres of land and today it is a nature learning center.

On the property of the Museum is Dr Martin Luther King Park where many folks will spend an afternoon reading a book or eating a lunch after visiting the museum. In the 1980s they had robotic dinosaurs in the park as exhibits.

In 1990 a school was added to the museum of science. There are 1100 students that attend this school of science including my cousin who use to attend it years ago when it first opened its doors. The Dr R Drew Science Magnet school was one of the first elementary schools to be attached to a museum and fit the  physically and programmatically requirements.

Today the curatorial staff continues to pursue significant research in anthropology, botany, entomology, mycology, paleontology and zoology on both the regional and worldwide levels. Scientists seek new knowledge about the Greater Niagara Region and about other parts of the world, working often with university and museum-based scholars from Iceland to Japan, Canada to Venezuela.

Unfortunately I never thought about investigating this place until I was interviewed on WNY 13 most scariest places. Rumors of lights turning on and other strange occurrences within the museum are no fluke. This seems to be a residual type of haunting. Hearing foot steps at later hours of the night, lights turning on by themselves, Etc. The Buffalo Society Of Natural Science is over 150 years old an there goes a lot of history with that. All the educators, curators, staff that contributed over the years to a life of science. But what about the artifacts that are brought in such as mummies from great Egypt or artifacts from the jungle? Is it not true that some objects are said to be haunted? Or that a spirit will travel with whatever it is connected to? So maybe this explains the Hauntings that go on here.

Our organization only investigated the grounds here unfortunately due to our time limits we were not able to investigate the inside of the museum. But of course if the ghost roam the museum inside they also have to be outside. Taken into consideration of the monumental park, the amount of people who visit here and the age of the entire area the museum sits on. Most museums are haunted by many different ghost.  This museum I have to admit is very eerie inside as there are lots of dark halls, rooms and so anything could hide as far as the unseen goes. Feelings of being even watched out the windows were even overwhelming here. So is there something of the supernatural occurring here? You decide!
