The first Methodist church in Pierson was chartered and organized in 1888 when Nels Pierson donated a five acre tract for parsonage not to far from the cemetery. Tue Pierson donated lumber from his sawmill to build a two story residence where the large room upstairs could be used for services and Sunday school. In 1892 it burned down.

At that time the church trustees bought the Farmers Alliance Building near by which would be used as the new church. The Methodist church was consolidated from 7 in the county too 4 churches. So all members from Emporia, Midway, Astor and Even Barberville attended the Pierson Methodist Church. Morale of the story it generated the cemetery which we investigated and many of those that attended this church were also buried here.

I have heard rumors of the cemetery being haunted however its less then a century old and very well kept despite that it sits on a quiet road. Some call this Pierson Methodist Cemetery however I called it Braddock. Its a pretty peaceful place and part of Pierson Florida's history.
