Bowen House
Can we say haunted? This place really was worth the patience of waiting. As I entered and right away it was like a rush towards me. Did you ever get that feeling that you were not welcomed? That is what I felt like however the entities were nice enough to let me do what I had to do but they do not look pleased. They did not feel evil its just that I did not feel warmth entering the house like some places.
I walked around and could not help noticing that the house was in restoration but it has been for months. The walls were all gone only wood supports, the floor had planks to walk on, and there were a few odds and ends laying around like gloves, beer bottles, tools
Ect typical of anybody restoring a house. I never felt so watched before in my life I just knew no matter
where I went whatever was here just stood there watching everything I did and without walls just many supports you could feel whatever it was moving between them.
I walked into a big room them moved a board going into perhaps what was the den or living room. There was a tiny little passage going down barely wide enough for me to fit down into. But I went down the steep steps wound up in a secret room. It was no basement rather a small roof 5 feet in height with rocks and stones embedded in the walls so that told me how old this home really is at this point. It was very warm down here as opposed to the rest of the house. The room reminded me of the underground railroad you hear about in our slave history. Something did follow me into the little room. At this point I came to realize no matter where I went in this house the ghost would follow me and they kept an eye on me to make sure I had good intentions.
I then headed up stairs at first finding a way up stairs was hard since I thought I'd have to climb but hidden behind a stack of wood and supplies was a way up. Upstairs had no windows it was dark not very large but I had to be careful there were some holes in the flooring. I did not like it here it was uncomfortable I had the get out feeling at this point which I did just that left after getting some upstairs photos. I had to go back around threw the whole house again since I could not fit between the beams. I had no problems and worked my way outside to do some photography.
The ghost did follow me outside i seen some ectoplasm on a few occasions and it seemed whatever was here really guarded its property all the way to the sidewalk. I did walk a little in back of the house found a garage or a long workshop which seemed at one time to connect to the house. Cars and a boat were still here so I did not want to overstay my welcome. I took some perimeter shots finished off my goodbyes and was relieved to just be away from this place. It seemed to me that the ghost reside here and preferred there privacy which is not all the cases but in this one that is the impressions I got.
I then headed home and I sure am tired but it was a nice investigation tonight with a milestone of surpassing our 200th place, the other half of the investigation dealing with the history of Lancaster and even a very old haunted house it turned out to be a complete night full of activity and some nice photos I am sure. This just tells you that ghost can be in the oddest of places. This wraps up another adventure brought to you by PGS. Goodnight!
