Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery was established in 1955 when Bishop Joseph A. Burke purchased 160 acres of land to form this cemetery. This is a very odd cemetery there is 160 acres and hardly any stones. It is posted no trespassing all over despite the fact that it is a public cemetery. There is a few trees but basically its one giant open area and in the very center is all the stones this cemetery contains. Unlike most cemeteries that have a stone scattered here and there. There is woods surrounding 3 sides of the cemetery and they are quite thick and unfriendly looking. The purpose of this cemetery was for burials around the Grand Island and Niagara falls Catholics. For a catholic cemetery you would expect to see statues, saints Ect but most stones are flat stones. It is very peaceful here and as Ryan mentioned our investigator his cousin use to ride her bike on the trails that go around the entire spacious cemetery.
